No, it’s very janky and underpolished.  There’s a difference. I love underpolished and raw stuff and demo sounds. As well as NH.  There’s a difference though.

How come we haven't had remasters of the old blink albums? Tons of bands have different mixes of albums released over the years, some good and some bad. Did the blink masters actually get destroyed in that universal fire from years ago? I want to hear some new mixes.

I don’t think anyone is calling it raw. It just doesn’t have a bunch of 808s and all that extra production polishing bullshit that makes them sound more like a pop group than a rock group

Something can be "raw" and still good, like fruit or vegetables or nuts or whatever, and some music can be "raw" and feel just right too because the artist intends it to be that way.

On the other hand, food can be "undercooked" which is different, and that's how I hear Neighborhoods. It just doesn't sound like it was quite finished or something.

That's the demo quality in my opinion. It doesn't come across to me like some cool "raw" sounding rock record, it sounds more like it didn't have everyone's full attention and effort behind it and they put it out anyway because they were supposed to.

Having said that, I still love a lot of the stuff on that album. But yeah, I wish it had been fully cooked.

They could have my entire wallet. Early demos, Warren Fitzgerald Dude Ranch sessions, EOTS oddities, new mixes, and more… it’s way overdue.
