Don’t let him off that easy. He was glazing this album hardcore, like saying it was the best album of the century type glazing. He needs to be called out for backtracking on comments like that, and needs to learn to let things settle before proclaiming something like that 2 1 Quote

I listen to Violence and Stockholm (and most of the album) more in the winter, but would I go out of my way to listen to it? Probably not. It kina js sounds like Box Car Racer, but with Mark, yk? I don't think it really sounds like blink 100%, altho I can see bits and pieces of them in it. K. Quote

I mean it’s decently interesting to see a fresh perspective on blink because they weren’t around for any of it, but it’s also annoying because they weren’t around for any of it to understand the impact of the 2003 album around the globe. That Feeling This era defined blink for a lot of ppl. Emo movement. Unexpected, perfect album. ‘K’. 1 Quote

Just like you weren’t really around for Enema and TOYPAJ, yet you proclaim that Selftitled had a bigger impact when it most definitely did not. You love assuming that your truth must be everybody else’s. Quote

Their reign started to lose hold in the selftitled era and other bands in similar genres started popping up and getting more sales and recognition than blink. You’re once again confusing your own personal taste with the outlook of the whole world Quote

I was talking about the guy who was not even conscious when Self Titled came out to feel Part 2 is just the same if not better. On one hand, I actually find it interesting, they are able to hear the music just as is with no other impact of the cultural relevance at the time, just the noise. Like when we hear oldies. But on the other hand, I didn’t live 10 years longer on this planet not to pull at my beard and make scoffing comments. Quote

But as I’ve pointed out several times, that’s not what you care about most. You care about everything except the actual music and musical talent lol. You’re more caught up in how cool Tom dresses and what guitar he’s using 1 Quote

Maybe one day you’ll learn to appreciate music the way it is supposed to be appreciated instead of hyper focusing on how popular it is or what the band members look like. Until then, you’ll always have shit takes on music that cant be taken seriously. Sorry, not sorry. Quote

While everyone was enjoying blink and jumping around at their concerts you were screaming from the background “I ONLY LIKE THEM FOR THE MUSIC” Ahead of the times bub 1 Quote

Nice immature response since you can’t dispute the fact you care more about looks and popularity than you ever did about the actual music. And this is why nobody takes your opinions on music seriously. Quote

It's not a matter or popularity..it's a matter of cultural impact, if you lived through it, you felt it.. like the Bee Gees in the 70s or w.e. You listen to it now bare, you'd be like 'wtf'? If you were around during that time, you probably get it? This isn't that hard to understand. Riding on the bus parting our hair to one side and wearing blank tees and sharing earphones to listen to the new Blink tracks on Self Titled. Enamored by the new darker style. Where were YOU. Quote
Jan Mortensen Posted October 15, 2025 Posted October 15, 2025 Also ATST was their biggest moment. But I Miss You was a close second or in contention to. They left the So Cal pop punk vibe for alternative. It wasn't as big a deal but it reached a lot of new fans. Definitely not a small period. Everyone had that album in their walkman. Quote

This is why I can’t take you seriously. You act like what you were doing is the only thing that matters. I’m just pointing out your ignorance and hypocrisy. I mean I’ve literally seen you try to prop up bands you like over other bands because the band you liked sold more records. But as soon as I bring up another act that sold more than blink, album sales don’t matter all of a sudden! You are a clown who is incapable of removing yourself from your own feelings and opinions, that’s why I’ll never take anything you say about music even remotely seriously and don’t ever bring up cultural impact. You have no clue what you’re talking about. You’ve tried to disparage Social Distortion several times yet their cultural impact is immeasuarable. None of your favorite bands would exist without them, including blink. You don’t know what cultural impact is. You jerking off in your bedroom to pictures of tom while you listen to self title isn’t cultural impact 1 Quote
