Resident Zoomer Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 Just now, allsystemsghoul said: It is a single video? At least it is on youtube. Yeah that’s why I mentioned Apple Music. Will probably just rewatch it on YouTube when I get home. I’ve been trying to avoid discussion on this until I’ve finished it so thanks for the heads up. 1 Quote
theedge00 Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 Pretty interesting so far (halfway through). Zane’s question and remarks aren’t necessarily sharp or insightful 1 1 1 Quote

WPGBlink Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 Admittedly, I was getting a bit pissed edging as long as we did. But these last months have made up for it in spades with the snippets, trailers, song drops, videos, etc and now ultimately this interview. Feels like the perfect cherry on top of all the build up to reach the album drop. There were some seriously cool moments in here. The Jerry Finn bit to wrap it up into their favorite part of this iteration of blink was awesome. He was so monumental for these guys, as we all know, but seeing them pay homage and respect to those moments that made them the musicians they are today was fucking outstanding. I think there's always going to be a certain part of us fans that will always want to know the deep dark truth about those moments that took place in the past. We did get some pretty heavy topics tackled head on, but this was never going to be the interview to turn over those stones completely. I think my most important takeaway was the ease in which they did discuss a lot of these difficult topics. It felt different this time from any time we have seen or heard things discussed in the media or press before and that's the beauty of this iteration of blink. Kudos to Zane, too. He did a great job, especially on the back half of the interview letting the boys really warm up and give some quality answers. 4 2 Quote
Kay Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 He does a lot of asking a question that waffles into pointlessness, cant say im much of a fan of his approach but he did push for hard things. Some of the edits were quite telling though, theres awkward moments where they’ve clearly cut out a response. I loved Tom’s jokingly shocked O faces when Mark would refer to hating him and being pissed and stuff, cracked me up every time. was a great interview all around. 7 1 Quote
Ghost Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 Finished. Good one. I love it. It's an amazing interview for what it is and its purpose. Is not a documentary about the band or the reunion, but a deep view on the process in the context of an inminent album release, so there are a few things that may have been touched slightly, but is enough. There are other subjects that have been touched in a very honest, direct and real way. I don't feel like they were hiding anything. A few mea culpa statements said and the recognition of all the bad blood going on when Tom left twice. As I said, this sounds real, honest and sincere. You can feel it. They care now about blink and, first of all, about themselves. Can't wait to listen to the album. 6 1 Quote
Jan Mortensen Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 "Yea this is my home, it's where I spend a lot of my time." Probably the most profound statement of the interview by Travis though. Truly groundbreaking stuff. 4 Quote
Lauren Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 So blink is my 9 year olds favorite band. I was watching in the living room and him on his ipad suddenly "so thats what his voice sounds like" when travis spoke ? 6 Quote
Mau5 Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 One of the best blink 182 interviews I've seen in terms of production, unique questions, album promotion and a few new tidbits to add to our blink lore knowledge. Never thought we'd see this day tbh. This reunion is what we all thought 2009 was going to be, but so obviously better. 2 Quote
Knapppers Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 Would be cool if they got like Carson Daily or something seeing as they were such a big MTV band. That or they all go on Rogan lmao. Quote
NotNow Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 I get to go home watch the interview and lead straight into first listen. Hype 1 Quote
Monkey Chips Posted October 18, 2023 Author Posted October 18, 2023 4 hours ago, kibbles said: I wish they talked more about the original reunion tour and neighborhoods era and what that was actually like Not only that, but I'm curious to hear more about the music era where Skiba was in blink and Tom was doing his own things with Ilan. Like we kind of heard Tom's take on blink, but curious about Mark and Travis' take on AvA and the new stuff he was doing (like Lifeforms), and not just the Aliens (and not music stuff)... Also Tom hinted that his original plan was to just put out occasional studio albums and no longer tour music. Kind of curious how that connects to Angels touring for Lifeforms because he did go on tour for a bit. Quote
stupidtallhotgirl Posted October 18, 2023 Posted October 18, 2023 Idk if they meant to reference it but them saying "We're just as God made us" was a line said in Mark, Tom & Travis show lol Quote
Knapppers Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 Was surprised they went into Jerry Finn so much, that was really cool. They ended up opening up more than I expected. Was really good. 3 Quote
delonge mode Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 I've not watched it yet but is there any mention of Box Car Racer, +44 & AVA? Quote

boxelder Posted October 19, 2023 Posted October 19, 2023 this interview started off rather awkward and slow but picked up steam when they sit down in the studio space. bold of zane — one of his few good questions — to ask about matt being in the band. the urgency with which mark talks about tom’s last exit feels recent, like he’s still somewhat peeved about it, but tom really proves with his words in this interview that he means good on this, that this it the last time they do this. i wish travis had more of an opportunity to answer … his responses feel well thought out and lived in. hearing mark talk though reveals everything we ever loved about him and the band. he’s so honest and funny throughout this piece. i loved his answers about the last breakup and establishing himself outside of tom. a good interview. i wish it was somewhat more revealing, but perhaps they’re not ready to discuss every detail and trying to keep the peace. i also wish they would do more press for the album but ill take what we have 3 Quote
