Blink headlining Reading and Leeds

Will definitely be going for the day to Leeds (maybe Reading as well?) but won’t be doing it properly like when they did it 10 years ago. It’s not a rock festival anymore and is full of chavs just there for the DJs and rap artists. Shame how downhill it’s gone. Apparently the crowd is literally 16 year olds these days. Would have rather they did Download or Glastonbury. Although I missed out on Glasto tickets so that would have actually been quite gutting.

I know that the big festivals in the UK are usually in the countryside, can you get to the Reading festival easily with a train/bus? I'm thinking about going, tickets go on sale on the 30th.

This isn't in the countryside, it's in town. It's a 25 mins walk from the central station with links to London. They also provide a shuttle bus from Reading out to the site.

Equally Leeds is a little more remote but same principle applies for transport.

Yeah Reading is a piece of piss to get to. If loads of people here intend to go we should make a whole thing of it and get together.

I figured that was the case, I asked around this morning and everyone told me they don’t want to go because festivals are too chaotic, but I can’t miss the chance to see blink play some new songs. The tickets won’t go on sale until the end of next week, if we decide to go, it would be awesome to get together!

More pro-recorded blink sets?? hell yeah

I was at the movies the other day and noticed that Taylor Swift's concert is still playing. I thought it was a special event but it's been there for a while. Got me thinking if more artists did this I'd go to the movie theater way more often. Love a pro-shot set of an artist I love.

Yeah, it's crazy how well that Taylor Swift concert is doing. Like I said many times before, I'm at the point where I'd pay for a pro-recorded blink set of the 2023 and even the 2024 tours.

Honestly would be a great way for venues to double-dip profits; pay for the live show, and pay for the recorded performance (obviously people that went to the show live get a discount)... It just makes sense.

I've always wanted something like this. it would be so cool to be able to buy a pro-recording of the concert you attended to revisit it again and again.

True, or even for shows you can't attend (for any reason) I will forever be bummed that WWWY fest missed out on the opportunity of selling live performances of all the bands that played. I mean even the people that went to the show (even for both days) might have missed out on some things because of how stacked the lineup was.

I'm not a jam-band guy, but one thing that I respect the hell out of Phish for is the fact that they pro shoot every concert and you can pay to stream them live and/or to download. And they've been doing so for years. I genuinely don't understand why more bands don't do this, it seems to be very successful.

True, I remember when the Foo Fighters announced their new drummer and they streamed a show on the 'Veeps' service... I really wish blink-182 would do stuff like that (I know they did in the past, but it would be cool to watch them from the comfort of home (also like how MXPX did a full playthrough live of their new album on YouTube before the album dropped)).
