I want to make music, but I would like advice on everything.

I have a Rockjam RJ5061, a Gibson Memphis Les Paul without an f-hole, a Donner DED-80 and a couple of computers. I want to make a sort of experimental nu metal and punk rock but with keyboards like those in jazz, a sort of 808 bass and lots of instruments (something like Better Living Through Chemistry by zebrahead), as well as a mixture of rapping, growling and singing. Does anyone know what DAW I should use, or an influence they can think of? Thank you.

Full discloser... I don't make music and am not a musician (though I do dabble with singing and am debating learning to play the guitar at 31 (turning 32 in March)) my experience is with Audacity (or at this point I use a fork of Audacity called 'Dark Audacity' since the main Audacity has been bought by a company that claims it won't spy on its users, but I don't buy what they say)

Ultimately it's up to you... Do you want free DAW software or do you have the money to purchase software; if you do have the money then do you want a one time purchase, or a subscription based DAW service?

Just wanted to add my two cents since nobody has responded to your post yet.

I'll try to remember Dark Audacity. I researched your mixing offers and it seems very clean and straightforward. And do you make music yourself? I'd love to hear it! (Tonight I'm overly bubbly. Sorry.)
