2 Months Later.. how do you feel? OMT

So it's been 2 months since One More Time now (feels longer) - how do you feel about it?  

I think it's gotten better with time to settle and is now a staple blink album, it seems like was a lot to process for a while with the massive build up and so many songs, feels less need to be critical as time passes now.  Nothing may ever top their old stuff, due to their originality at that time, but I think they did about as good as they could have for the circumstances.

 

Anthem pt. 3 - I think this chorus is the one I sing the most when playing and when going about my day, so good. Tier A+

DWM - I didn't like this one at first, still don't love part of it, but sometimes it's the one song I want to listen to. Best single.  Tier B+

FIL - such a strange song still. Strangest on the album. But better now.  chorus lives on forever rent free in my head though.  Tier B (slightly grew)

Terrified - this song is simply amazing.  Everything about it is phenomenal. Nothing changed here if not better.  Tier A

OMT - a great song. It's starting to feel more like a throwback to me with the guitars.  Tier B+ 

MTYK - this song probably had the biggest sweep.  Favorite upon release, now I think I skip it. Feel like will circle back to it.  Tier B+ tho (fell)

TTO - all time fave, still.  Reminds me of Lagwagon for some reason.  Tier A

WWWY - the biggest grower for a while.  Didn't like at first, love it now. It feels like some really heavy(?) Ava. Guitars go harder now.  Tier A- (grew)

Edging - Can't say listen to it much, but I never hated it as much as everyone else.  For the video and drop it always has a spot, still - Tier C

YDKWYG - simply love this song.  Somehow, I like it even more and more and never gets old to me.  Tier A

Blink Wave - hasn't grown on me at all.  Tier B-

Bad News - hate to say it, but it's slightly dipped for me.  I still love what it is, but I'm starting to get the whole drum issue.  Tier B+ (slightly fell)

Hurt - call me a bot, but I'm botting all over this song. Assuming Mark is in that background, getting the first "Ava" "song" with Mark is sick.  Tier A-

Turpentine - (best song on the album).  Great then, great now.  Went from mind blow, to just staple favorite.  Tier A+

Fuck Face - I thought I'd get sick of this one coming up, but it's so short and sweet it's a no prob.  Dig it. I like being yelled at.  Tier B 

Otherside - this is a beautiful song.  I only don't love the instrumental, probably least interesting on the album, but still good.  Tier B+

Childhood - ugh, I think I'd cringe to see my blowing this song for hours upon release. It's still freaking cool, but I don't put it as high as the others. Perfect for release day though. Tier B+ (fell)

CME/See you - same feeling as when dropped. Quick throw ins to accomplish whatever they were doing, I'll say I always go 19 track album though to have em vs not.  Tier B-

 

It's still a potential masterpiece. Just such a good mixture. Go team. Go blink.  What are your thoughts now?

I've listened to it once in the last month but I remember enjoying it immensely that one listen. I'll give it a spin xmas day whilst I'm cooking lunch and drinking beer. Should be a good time.

Still listening to it on shuffle every other day. Songs haven't gotten worse, but actually better for some. Still don't like Childhood and Edging still sucks.

I fucking love it. I've played it consistently from top to bottom since its release. I hardly skip tracks. Sometimes I do it when I'm on a quick commute or something, but when I have the time to sit and listen, then I go for the whole thing. This record is starting to settle down as a blink classic for me, and I think it will do it on the future for the most of the fan base. We will be talking about it in the same terms as Enema, TOYPAJ and Untitled, IMO.

It’s behind Dude Ranch and Untitled for me but ahead of Toypaj and Enema so it’s a success. I think Turpentine, Blink Wave, Bad News, Childhood, Terrified and Anthem pt 3 are all timers.

Blink is our favorite band so it feels weird that album cycles feel shorter even for us, I think it's because we no longer have the habit to spend months and months on the same album, but that doesn't mean the album doesn't hit right.

I've actually spent an entire month listening to OMT on repeat for hours and hours, now I've calmed down a bit and I'm back to listening to music on shuffle from Spotify + a lot of Xmas playlists, but when I listen to OMT, I still love it and it still gets no skips. I can't listen to it on shuffle though, it has to be from front to back. 

It will keep me some good company during the 10 days of Christmas holidays.

[Fun, Catchy Pop-Punk]

It’s pretty good, still have my issues with the production. I listened to Tickets to my Downfall yesterday for the first time in years and I preferred the production of that album ?

Honestly still enjoying the heck out of it. Fun album overall. Still kinda crazy we got a full new album with Tom on it again.

I haven't listened to it in awhile, but that's mostly because I pivot to XMAS music after Halloween. I am a bit worried about the "replayability" of the album, but we'll see what happens

Guitars? No, fuck no.  Balance? Maybe.  Vocals - wash, but edge to blink for simply pulling out vintage Tom & Mark vocals at times.  I mean compare OMT to California/Nine vocal effects on Mark at times and thank goodness there was none of that or whoas, is like night and day.  

The guitars are going underrated on this album, some really good jamming throughout on much of the post choruses.  I think guitars became so prominent in Enema-Untitled, that we associate those picking riffs with Tom, but it more channeled Dude Ranch where it just sort of jamming.

I think this like every day, but then when I end up playing it it's like the easiest listen front to back, and feels like the original drop all over again, strange phenomenon.

I can see not wanting to listen to half of it after a couple years though.

I feel like it's front loaded and back loaded. The middle are the duds. Was cool to blast in properly.

I think it’s a solid album and enjoy it a lot. I still like the songs I did on the first listen. When we were young is the one that has grown on me the most. 
 

Dance with me still hasn’t grown on me though ?
