High Value Man Posted January 11, 2024 Posted January 11, 2024 Capital H was my first favorite, so I just had to run & listen to that….but they have so many. I suck at being a fan though & probably don’t know any of their newest albums. I do have a picture of Justin & I in ‘05 though! Ran into him (literally) & he was in a hurry, but still stopped to take a picture because “I can tell you want to ask,” & I definitely did. ?? Dude was so nice. 1 Quote

boxelder Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 funny this thread was started, i just saw them in ATL this past week. MCS is so severely underrated, with one of the most consistent discographies in punk/emo. they're so distinctive, from the moogstand to the verbose and descriptive songwriting. i feel like they were firing on all cylinders until thaxton left after go, which is why maybe panic stations feels like they lost a step a bit (but even their worst record is better than many). admittedly, there are times today where i don't do as much active listening of MCS because i burned myself out on them long ago. but they're so fun live, and the records really stand up. commit is the obvious keeper, but IATM is so rewarding and interesting, go is bleak but well-rounded, MDL is banger after banger, and EIIKM an interesting portrait of a band in transition. love MCS! even their b-sides are phenomenal. how could a band not include back to the beat or throw down on an album? or alcohol eyes or sunny day? it's like mind-blowing 3 Quote

DUDE that'll be so kickass if it happens with the tiktok idea - but idk though, it all depends if pop punk makes it round about again i think. 1 Quote

Seriously. I saw their farewell tour back in like 2017 and I think they've done 3 or 4 since? They're getting to be like KISS. Still they put on a hell of a show and I would love a new record (which it sounds like they're working on in fits and starts). 1 Quote
Kay Posted January 13, 2024 Posted January 13, 2024 I’ve seen them live twice and got to meet them and I absolutely loved it. 1 Quote
Resident Zoomer Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 Saw them at the Roxian Theatre in Pittsburgh right before the pandemic shut everything down. Justin’s one of my favorite lyricists ever. He even replied to a couple comments and DMs of mine. MCS is legendary. I’m so glad they’re making another album. I heard from r/MotionCitySoundtrack that they have a new song being featured at the end credits of some film called Dìdi, which debuted at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. 1 Quote
