david to the fifth power
here's what you do. don't buy any of that, but say a $600 epiphone lp, and spend the rest on a good amp. or go all used that way you can buy some better stuff at decent prices.IMO stay away from all that you posted. detroit steve
yeah dont get any of that especially the 30 watt amp biggest waste of money ever to get a 30 watt amp with a 10 inch speaker

Mr. Jones
get a nicer amp. Those squiers are pretty damn nice. Alder/poplar bodies, AlNiCo pickups.

The squires today are great quality! the only down sides are the cheaper hardware, but for the price they're amazing guitars. I prefer the Squire AlNiCo pickups over the ceramic MIM's. I'm also a fan of the medium jumbo frets instead of the vintage fret wire.

He realizes no one in their right mind will purchase that amp' date=' so he figures he can pawn it off on this guy as "his recommendation"There are some poorly thought-out amps that are actually quite nice pieces of equipment, however that is not one of them.As far as my recommendation goes:[b']Guitar: Your original choice was a fine one Amp: http://tech21nyc.com/tm120.html (also available in a Half Stack if you decide you really do need to move some air when you play)

Not to mention much better sound quality. It may or may not matter depending on what enviornment you are playing the amp in. However, more times than not, it will indeed matter. And the AVT series is considerably better, but still not necessarily an amp of choice.

Rusty Shackelford
I would reccomend trying a Schecter for a new guitar. I just got an S-1 standard in see thru cherry and I have to say it's one of the nicest guitars ive played. It's got mother of pearl covered Grover tuners( Ive had to tune it once since I got it for X-mas) Duncan Designed JB's, A push/pull coil tap for the strat single coil sound, mother of pearl inlays, a Tone Pros bridge and a fast neck. All of that for $368(Normally $400 but we got it lowered). I would really reccomend a Schecter. Try out a few and see what you like. Most of them come with Duncans or Duncan Designs and all of the features I said. Good luck with your new gear to.
