Tbf, the only ‘perfect’ discographies I can even think of are like 2pac, Nirvana, Pantera, Elliot Smith. And what do they all have in common? They all died young. They never even got the chance to mess up their discog. So it’s only par of the course for artists. (Sorry if I’m being ToO WiSe here) I just want chills again and I know they’re capable. The fact they were able to with A3, Turpentine, Terrified, YDKWYG (first few times), MTYK is more than enough for me and somewhat surprising honestly. I just don’t want any more fluff. We speak the same language really often in these types of topics and I understand what you're getting at, but I think you might be overlooking or overthinking some things in this era. At least with the actual album One More Time. I think you're right that their era of deep emotional creative personal songwriting was sort of a blip on the radar of their career, but on One More Time I think they actually channeled that in a more authentic way than they have any time since +44 in 2006. With Neighborhoods I think they tried to keep up that aesthetic - they dressed in black all the time and attempted to write some sad/angry type songs - but the fact that they were so disconnected and awkward on a personal level meant that they didn't actually get super deep. But with One More Time, even though they reconnected with their fun punk roots on some songs, I actually think they found a balance that feels MORE meaningful than just trying to stay "mature" or dark or whatever. Part of what's so meaningful about this era is that they have reconnected as actual friends - when so many of your memories as soul-level friends have to do with goofy antics and fun punk music, it actually IS authentic to reconnect with that type of music together I think IF it's a result of creativity and not cookie cutters and industry dorks. And as for dark/emotional/creative songs, One More Time has plenty of songs that are in the same universe as the songs on Untitled: Anthem 3 - Musically it's classic Blink punk, but it's somewhat progressive and more importantly, lyrically it's Tom reckoning with wtf happened as he threw his friendships and sense of self away over the last 20 years and vowing to never let it happen again. Terrified - heavy musically, lyrics (in my opinion) seem to be about dying One More Time - fully acoustic, talks about their betrayals, tragedies, hard-earned reconciliation and love for each other More Than You Know - Fucking heavy, right up there with Stockholm Syndrome as one of the darkest/heaviest/most aggressive songs they've ever written You Don't Know What You've Got - A tragic/triumphant song about having cancer and thinking of everything you took for granted in your life as you fear that your life is going to be taken away from you Blink Wave - Not dark but creative in the sense of bringing their 80s new wave influences in, similar to Always Turpentine - Dark and aggressive musically, even with some goofy-ish lyrics it's a sarcastic and clever song about low self-worth with a jaw-droppingly awesome bridge from Mark Other Side - More conventional pop punk song but lyrically about a beloved friend dying Childhood - Musically it's like Blink meets Sgt Pepper, totally unique in their catalog, lyrically it's about lost time and regret as you get older That's 9 songs that I would consider to be progressive, mature, deep, creative, and/or pushing into different sonic directions... I'm not big on either of the B-sides that got released today but I can't get onboard with the idea that they're just coasting, California style, since reuniting. That very well might be their M.O. from now on, but I think they were clearly deeply inspired and creative and mining the depths while making One More Time. SO GIVE IT ANOTHER CHANCE OK?? Haha 4

Imagine not only bragging about having 28K posts on a message board, but bragging about having 28K posts on a message board where you are universally thought of as a simp. Tells me that your life outside of this board is... not great. You're not even witty with your comebacks. I told you to sit this one out and your great response is saying the same thing haha. What's even funnier is that you're melting like an icicle based on an original post that wasn't even directed at you, but you took offense to it anyway because you are THAT insecure. Fun times. Ghent
All In My Head is actually a great song too, it’s just ruined by the cum stain and watch porn line. Sorry, I don’t want sexual images of the guys in blink. If they didn’t do it in their 20s, there’s no reason to think it’s cool in their 40s/50s. Too much unnecessary imagery, nobody asked for this lol. Just gross and out of nowhere. No more first person sexual references please

I’m not viewing it like mark is just having a wank and jizzing in the couch, but he’s in another random hotel, that he doesn’t want to be in, that’s just dirty and someone obviously jizzed on the couch based on a stain.

Monkey Chips
I'm guessing "An unflushed Toilet (Dirty bowl)" would have been a stinker of a line too, huh? On a serious note, I agree with @Russel Coightmaybe it's just something he remembered from the various hotel rooms he stayed in so he wrote in there for imagery. allsystemsgo
Honestly I could do with the word "cum" never being used in a song again. Never been my type of humor.
