Yeah, I don't really remember the lyrics either, but I catch myself going "There's no fun anymore, na na na na na na..." it's a fun and catchy tune. I know they could have done more with it (like maybe have Mark in the background (or even another Tom) going "Woah oh oh" or singing something else) but I like how it sounds as is either way.

I didn't really comment on the two songs because I only listened to them once, I'll check them out again in two weeks when the Deluxe comes out. To be fair, I also only listened to Can't Go Back once from the first video that was uploaded on YouTube months ago, but when they played it last night at Reading it sounded gigantic. 

(Don't skip Not Now because this was probably the best performance they ever did of the song) 

 

I think it will be interesting to see how the new songs blend together. I'm going to make a playlist on Spotify to separate them from OMT so it'll be like listening to an EP of bonus tracks. 

And if they're not good then it's alright, blink is back, they're having fun together, they make music, nothing makes me smile more than seeing my favorite band happy and thriving, even if the music is not excellent.

Their entire set was super impressive here. I'm happy to see Tom running around the stage having fun.

Can't Go Back fits well with Not Now, as it seems a song written in 2004/2005. Don't know if it fits with the actual throwback sound of blink.

Yeah, the band is at the top of its game.

yes, they absolutely ripped it up last night, they sounded great and you could tell they were having fun. The total opposite of their 2014 Reading performance.

It’s kinda crazy to think how 10 years ago they played the same festival. Tom took the piss out of the show to the point mark was visibly frustrated and shaking his head. Last show they band would play before breaking up.

Now 10 years later. Same festival. Completely different vibe. People sayings it’s one of their best shows ever. Deluxe edition of an amazing comeback album on the horizon. Everybody loves each other again.

Everything truly is magic people. We’re living in a great time.

Both songs have grown a lot on me. "No Fun" particularly. Stuck in my head as well. And then it's actually poignant and endearing, not just pandering to old blink.

By now I prefer them to more than a couple OMTpt.1 tracks: "Fell In Love", "Edging", "See You", "Cut Me Off" and the two short ones.

At the same time, it keeps bugging me, because I still think they were rushed/unfinished and don't live up to their potential. The bridges first and foremost (or the lack of one in No Fun's case)...

That's how I'm approaching things as well... Do I have gripes as well? Absolutely, for example one of them is something where I'm in full agreement with @Roaryand think blink would be a lot better and more entertaining without backingtracks and instead had backup musicians that are hidden in the shadows while the lights are on Mark, Tom and Travis... I mean, imagine the comedy gold that could arise from the touring Keyboardist or extra Guitarist messing up a note? Mark and/or Tom could call them out and rip into them (with good humor of course) and it's just lost potential for comedy. And this performance really highlighted how cool that could have been. 

As I also said before, I am incredibly fine with how blink is right now, even with the issues I may have with them because I never thought we'd get this blink ever again. I mean when they first announced Tom was coming back I was numb from disbelief and being burnt from the last reunion with him. Now that I can see how good things are with them (again despite a few issues) I'm fine with what they are doing. I'm past the point of them needing to be the best band ever and having to prove they're the best band ever.

I'll even deal with clunker of songs (like Fell In Love and Fighting The Gravity as examples) just as long as they're together and having fun.

Is there any video showing this? I remember the concert they had in Japan (but I think that was in 2005?) where Mark was definitely pissed off with Tom after he was saying some jokes in the Rock Show bridge.

MTYK is my favorite song on the album hands down.  Feels like it's talking directly to me, is aggressive and Tom and Mark both sound great on it.  I love it.

The songs are a bit better after getting some rest.

No Fun actually gives off some old school (TOYPAJ) sensations mixed with a more familiar Tom we're used to.  The simplicity actually works here.  The guitar riff reminded me of Not Another Xmas Song at first which bugged me, but it moves quick and works well, gets you nostalgic.  Tom stumbles over his words a bit too much, especially the verses.  Good pre-chorus.  Nice simple chorus.  Intro is just whatever, it's fine. I actually like this song.  Putting it above Cut Me Off, See You, Fell In Love, probably Childhood at this point, OMT, DWM, Blink Wave for me, maybe WWWY.  The Drums sound way better here.

@Ghent is right (*barf*), that if this was released first, we'd lose our shits.  Edging has a special place, but this would have been legendary as the comeback song.  We'd bitch about the genericism about "no fun anymore" but the guitar, back to basics more (it really does give TOYPAJ era vibes) would've sent us.  

 

All in my head however still feels like an unfinished, clunky song.  Mark sounds really good off the rip.  The chorus is fine but can get be annoying.  I really don't think the cum stains line is about Mark banging someone on the couch - that would be worst case scenario.  It's either being lonely in a hotel room with cum stains on the couch grossing him out, or he got lonely and jerked off on the couch.  It's still a bit of a lazy line but not as bad as whatever Ghent is thinking.  I'd probably throw this above Cut Me Off, See You, Fell In Love but stops there. 

 

It's cool to get a heavier Tom and Mark song a piece.  Feels more like home.  They shouldn't drop these songs mid work week.
