Coddled Jan Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 Take Me In is utter trash though. See You's equally ugly step sister. I don't know why they make these songs. Take Me In might be the worst OMT era blink song ngl. Started out kind of cool for a second too. Thought we were getting an Interpol type song. Luckily Can't Go Back and the rest of the tracks already slap. Quote
Speedo Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 The vocal modulation thing they’re doing on every line on Take Me In is not great. I do like the guitar picking though. I’d be interested in hearing an instrumental. 2 Quote
Coddled Jan Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 Take Me In is worse than most of California. Happy @JarJarBlinks @Ghent? There's no character to it at all outside the little intro (I guess?). I hate, hate these type of songs and they need to stop cluttering up the discog. Quote
Coddled Jan Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 Twitter might also be more cancerous than Tik Tok now. Really, 2.5 seconds then you need to click through a bunch of redirect to sign up pages? Fuck that. Quote

So out of curiosity, does that mean your ranking has changed, or is it about the same from before? Can't Go Back - all timer, the Samauri Cop of Blink's career (haters will hate me for this suck it) 2. One Night Stand - amazing, best AvA song ever? in blink? Let's go. 3. Every Other Weekend - they pull off the younger sounding vocals here somehow, Tom sounds great 4. Everyone Everywhere - Exodus (exist this?) from the mind!! 5. If You Never Left - old school mark vibes on the chorus, killer guitar (good production!!) gap 6. No Fun - nice little guitar part, solid jam 7. Take Me In - kinda cheesy, but decent and kinda like Mark's part oddly (I'd rather they take risks than not) larger gap than speedos butthole 8. Cut Me Off 9. All In My Head 10. See You Edited September 4, 2024 by Monkey Chips Quote
Speedo Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 Can’t Go Back is cool but Travis is overplaying. 1 1 Quote

Thank you for inquiring about my current ranking status. They are all about the same (I might like one of the new tracks more than Can't Go Back, but we'll see), I'd take All In My Head over Take Me In forsure now, and put it right at the bottom with See You. Everything else is pretty much the same, those top 5 are strong. Quote

Yeah, that's why I said it sounded like a Cali Deluxe song. It's not bad, there's just not much there besides a catchy chorus 2 Quote
allsystemsgo Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 These songs are...not it. These are the scraps so I shouldn't be surprised. CAN'T GO BACK goes nowhere. TAKE ME IN has an okay chorus, the bridge is goofy. 1 Quote

It’s just a chill song without a major goal to have some big chorus or something. Quote
NotNow Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 Take me in is great minus the bridge. A lot of these deluxe songs definitely didn’t get the level of polish as the actual album or reworking things to better fit the song. There’s no way anyone listened to the final product of take me in and said yea this bridge works for the song. To me these deluxe tracks are demos that got final tracking and mixing quality but in terms of writing they still feel demoey. Also can’t go back still does nothing for me I have no idea why people love it. I don’t think it’s bad just totally inoffensive and nothing about it stands out to me. 1 Quote

Walrus Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 I wonder how I’d feel about these new songs if I was a younger blink fan. songs are ok, No Fun is my favorite so far, but the chorus falls flat. I like the chorus of TMI. Can’t go back has a cool feel to it, but I can’t see myself listening to it often. All in my head has a solid chorus. I miss Jerry Finn Quote

WPGBlink Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 Who listened to the bridges on Take Me In and All In My Head and gave those a thumbs up? They are both atrocious. The studio version of Can't Go Back was even better than I expected, honestly. 1 Quote
Russel Coight Posted September 4, 2024 Author Posted September 4, 2024 Take me in is good, not a fan of the bridge but enjoyed the rest. cant go back is fantastic, love it. Don’t think it needs to go somewhere, love it the way it is. Quote
Knapppers Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 Can't Go Back turning into a top tier blink song for me. Its so good. Whoever thought that the bridge on Take Me In was good needs to lay off the drugs. The song was ok up until then but my god what a pile of shit that bridge is. 1 Quote
plusavablinker Posted September 4, 2024 Posted September 4, 2024 Can´t go back is pure perfection, also I love Take me in, the brige is meh but I love the song. What I hope is that the next album is produced by a real producer... Quote
