Marks verses really kill Everyone Everywhere lol.

Every Other Weekend and If You Never Left are good. One Night Stand has some great parts but some bad parts. Gahh

EVERYONE EVERYWHERE OMG!!!!!

noooo they didn’t! (Actually just chill and have a fucking sweet ass guitar bridge for a second and let the song organically build instead of forcing a vocal bridge again and again)

WHAT!! It got better than the snippets!

Fuck. This might just top Neighborhoods for me afterall.  It’s close.

That song is if untitled, boxcar and Ava had a baby. I would love blink to go in this direction

Everyone Everywhere is really crushing me - minus Mark thinking this robot thing is probably cooler than it actually is.  Luckily it goes quickly, might be a top 3-5 song for me on all OMT.  I love the bridge/ending with a passion.  Tom & Travis killing that one.

Mark's song is Can't Go Back and If You Never Left (he sounds vintage here)

Ok I have only listened to the rip from yesterday but I'm loving it way more than I expected! I didn't like the two they released early at all, so my low expectations have been surpassed for sure haha.

I see these as b-sides/demos that have been polished up so I judge them a little differently than actual album tracks I guess. I hear a band figuring out their chemistry again and figuring out what works.

I love the kinda sad 80s pop vibe in a lot of these songs, I think it suits them and they pull that vibe off really well when they incorporate it into their pop punk roots too. They're giving me a nice fall vibe.

I'm sure I'll probably have some more thoughts once I get to know each song better.

Everyone everywhere is my least favourite of the new ones we’ve heard this week, but that’s only cos the others are top tier. I’m such it’ll grow on me with more listens.

I like the mark versus on everyone everywhere. I like weird blink. I like fighting the gravity and I even like the autotune on ransom

Take Me In doesn't quite work because it sounds like the vocal melody was written for people who are actual ballad singers who can belt it out with range and control, which Mark and Tom are not. The bridge especially sounds like someone playing a Tom/Mark keyboard rather than actual vocals hitting the notes haha. I pray they never attempt that song live 😬

Me too, huge Fighting the Gravity stan, but it feels like he's just trying to fit in with Travis & Tom on this song by doing his funky thing.  It's kind of charming in that sense, but it's so Simple Creaturesy I guess?  Plopped in a harder rock vibe.  It's strange, doesn't kill it for me at all just where I unfocus from the song for a second.

You gotta know Travis and Tom talked about Boxcar quite a bit with the likes of Terrified, More Than You Know, Fuck Face, this song coming into the mix, wanting to make things heavier at times.  I'm a fan, but glad it's not all they're doing.

It's so fucking trash.  I don't know what they were thinking. They were like "hey, this albums got a lot of variety, we are so versatile now, let's make some ridiculous ballads now and see what they think as well!"

Every Other Weekend

Terrified

One More Time

More Than You Know

Everyone Everywhere

If You Never Left

One Night Stand

This would be my definitive tracklist... "Fell In Love" is the only song from this era I would delete from existence, though. The rest I'm more or less happy to have...

2. Dance With Me

3. Every Other Weekend

4. Terrified

5. One More Time

6. More Than You Know

7. When We Were Young

8. You Don't Know What You've Got

9. Blink Wave

10. No Fun

11. Hurt (Interlude)

12. Can't Go Back

13. Turpentine

14. One Night Stand

15. Other Side

16. Childhood

Genuinely surprised at how much I liked Everyone Everywhere. The snippet had me feeling pretty meh on it, but the I like Mark’s first verse better than the second, and the bridge and final chorus really elevate the song. Major BCR vibes, which I am always down to have more of.

Overall really pleased. Still would take most of part 1 over most of part 2, but these are some damn good B-sides, with some real standouts. Awesome deluxe release.

Top Tier - Anthem 3, Turpentine, Terrified, Turn This Off, Can't Go Back, Every Other Weekend, Everyone Everywhere, One Night Stand

Good - Every Other Weekend, If You Never Left, Otherside, YDKWYG, MTYK, Bad News

Okay - Childhood, Dance With Me, Fuck Face, Hurt, Edging, When We Were Young, Blink Wave, OMT, No Fun

Bin - Fell In Love, Take Me In, See You, All In My Head, Cut Me Off

The production makes a big difference in why song like One Night stand gets nod over Otherside.  That drum sound can really take down a song.

It’s funny how just simply adding back in guitars (see If You Never Left) is such a forgotten thing now that it stands out so much even when it’s just basic Tom stuff.

Cali bots/Kansas Krew have to be in heaven right now with this release have to think when listening to it.

Listened to the new songs but I was on a plane and couldn't hear them the right way.

I need to have some other listenings but generally like this new wave/80's rock sound. However, I prefer when they speed up things instead of midtempo rhytms.

Good songwriting for some B-sides (Can't Go Back is the closer sound  to the Untitled's era, even better than After Midnight).

I like this era when they mix their different sounds but for the next one I'd like a more focused album, a little bit heavier (More Than You Know).

is Everyone Everywhere about laying in bed/taking something to sleep and wiping away the day's anxieties from people who suck?

the ending is absolutely beautiful to me.  Was totally expecting to just end on the main chorus (and was okay enough with that) it just took me.

Everyone Everywhere is absolute trash, there's nothing there.  Bizarre how some say it's the best song.

Almost as if people have different tastes. I know it’s mad

Poor Coight has gone to bed, as happy as a pig in shit, dreaming happy dreams about blink being back together making great music again, and now he's gonna have to wake up to all you debby downers whining and moaning about the new songs as soon as his back is turned.

I completely expected this and would have been disappointed if it wasn’t the case.
