M!ke
I believe that God himself recorded the guitar on the song. Prove me wrong! Until you do, I'm correct!

twentytwenty
2 minutes ago, Jans Stand said: Not going to keep repeating this. It sounds like a sample or session player coming in. Both those feel non-blink to me, at least for a song like this. But the thing is these are not the same things. I mean one could argue that a sampled guitar is a guitar since the sounds comes from a guitar from the beginning but that’s not what you’re on about. They're both equally lame (for blink). Guitar loops/samples that are used are generally made by session guitarists no? You're kind of making up your own argument here and pretending that's what I'm going on about, and I'm not really that invested in what you're getting at anyways. I have no disrespect for session guitarists..just in blink it's kinda lame since we have Tom (& Mark even) my point is that they both are lame to be using instead of Tom or Mark playing. The end. I win. Sucks..
Harry Butker
Jan out here doing the Lord’s work. I can almost guarantee that there are several guitar tracks even on OMT the original release that are not Tom playing

The end. I win. Sucks.. 1. A sampled guitar is not the same as a loop. 2. a guitar loop can be recorded by anyone, including Tom. 3. I’m not making anything up, you’re the one that stated that there’s no real instruments on the song, not me. 4. a session guitarist is a real guitarist, ffs! 😂 these all are things that have nothing to do with you liking the song or not, these are your own fabricated facts that I questioned.

Blink shouldn’t have a session guitarist in the first place. I guarantee you at least half of the guitars on OMT are Ilan Rubin.
M!ke
The funny part is he brought up the guitar as an argument about why I shouldn't hold it in high regard against my favorite slow blink songs (though at that point he was proclaiming there was no guitar period. Funny how much those goalposts have moved), when whether there was guitar or not was never a factor in why I hold those slow blink songs in such high regard in the first place. Hell, What Went Wrong? has no bass or drums, does that mean I can't love that beautiful song as I do?

You must really be drunk, I didn't say he didn't record guitar on that song. Unless wait... do you only care about guitar as an instrument? And you couldn't care less about drums and bass, Is that your weird issue here?

I'm not having an uppity studio production argument. Blink never used sampled guitars, guitar loops, session guitarists until Tom went off to bringing others to AvA and Blink went to Cali. I feel like you just don't want to accept the fact that ruins it for some people or are trying to do this semantics thing about studio production because you produce music.. it's very obvious what I don't like about it. If Tom wrote and played guitar for the riff here, which it doesn't sound like it, that still only takes the song up to about a 3/10.

I honestly wouldn't consider a loop or anything in their studio software a real guitar either, even if they technically are something pre-recorded. But I digress.
