This roll-out was really bizzare.

One local near me was protecting it like a national treasure, saying it's street dated for Tuesday, it's not being sold before then, we're getting calls asking for it but it's not here, etc.

Next local had like 10+ copies on the shelf, went in and got it no problem, and the cashier said it wasn't street dated at all. This was mid last week.

Same franchise. Could just be a disgruntled employee or two I suppose, but found it odd. Not sure if it's commonplace with book releases.

Either way, hope everybody enjoys the read!

Can you give more info on the Robert Smith thing? That’s surprising given how much (Mark specifically) they loved the Cure. Also more on Jerry’s funeral and the second break up and second reconciliation? And the 2009 Grammys? Why did they even agree to do that?

I have to assume it was too good of a shot to announce the tour/reunion. With places like Fuse and TRL gone, it was probably the biggest push that reunion was gonna get. Also with Travis coming back from that horrible crash, people were happy to see him. That tour did super well and it did pay off monetarily. it just looked off as Tom looked like a dude who came to pick someone up on the first date and the entire family was there. It was too soon.

Really reminded me of that time van halen "reunited" at the VMAs and david lee roth and the boys were not on the same page and it was awkward.

It's great hearing Mark talk for the audiobook. I do wish he read a little slower and gave his words more weight in certain instances. I don't know if it's improper for that kind of reading for audiobooks or what.

Got my book. Just have no idea when I’ll have the time to commit to it. How do I get the audiobook? It would be easier for me to listen

I got premium so it’s included in that. Mark sounds like AI though. It’s a little off putting

I saw the same AI complaint on reddit and I don’t hear it at all. It’s different to marks talking voice we’ve heard before but it still sounds like him/real to me.

I think that’s just how audiobooks are supposed to be recorded. They’re supposed to be a very neutral tone.

check it out in the book, but basically Robert Smith got a little too wasted at the 2004 Wembley show and essentially tried to make out with Mark after the gig. Mark has brushed it off in some of the most recent interviews about the book, but the way it’s written on the book is that it obviously came off very creepy and out of line at the time.

It’s been a second since I read the Jerry Finn part, but basically because Tom had asked Jerry to produce AVA and he declined, Mark surmised that was why Tom refused to go to his funeral and that he “hated (Tom) for that”

As for the reunion, they were simply feeling things out and seeing where things went in early 2009. Managers and label execs and music industry heads caught wind and urged them to announce it at the Grammys. Both Tom and Travis were late, and they nearly missed their cue to go on stage. The response was obviously very muted and awkward and it left Mark wondering whether or not blink had a place in the new music landscape.

So my book was supposed to arrive on the 16th but it’s actually getting delivered tomorrow, I’m so happy ♥️

Sometimes it gets better if you try listening to the audiobook at 1.2x or 1.5x speed.

Was there any explanation as to why Jerry refused to produce Ava but was fine with +44. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and guessin a nutshell it was bc Jerry essentially took Mark and Travis’ side in the break up and thought Tom was a douche for how he handled the end of blink, but did mark delve into why in his book?
