christ i can't really afford that in good conscience. i sure do wish someone could make a scan of the photos in the book though -- there's a lot of great stuff even in the preview images that he's never shared before, including recording EOTS

Hint hint someone on Instagram is basically going to repost those pictures from that book and make it like they discovered it

Some pictures look super super interesting (that U-Haul picture and the one underneath, never seen those before)

Oh cool fun fact Scott is wearing the exact same Airwalk shirt from the M+M's video!

If anyone has the Fahrenheit photo book, could you please scan the unseen pictures and send them my way ?

Would be cool to investigate the dates and identify those pictures and add them to the timeline website 😃

Thank you in advance!

Here are two new additions that I was sent from the Fahrenheit edition and it's photobook:

There's a picture outside of the venue from this show

3/6/1996: The band performs at the Metro in Chicago, Illinois. Other bands included Big Angry Fish, Love Nut and Plastics Hi Fi.

A newly surfaced flyer for this show as well as the exact line-up

4/1/1996: The band performs at Troubadour in Los Angeles, California. Other bands included Goldfinger, Reel Big Fish and The Violet Burning

Yeah that song is very sad now knowing the meaning behind the lyrics.

On holidays, I randomly found a copy of Mark's book and browsed it and something bugs me that I wanted to share

In Mark's book and obvious knowledge, the narrative goes that Tom and Mark started the band.

However, I found an interview from 1996 from Mark and he says this (this is not the first time that Blink history is changed to better fit the timeline in interviews...)

Scott and Tom met at a party and then started the band

well, tom and scott met at a party a long time ago and started talking and decided that they wanted to start a band. at that same time, my sister was going out with one of tom's best friends, so she introduced me and tom and we started writing songs together, and it just began from there.

Am I the first person to notice this ?!

It's his book and his band so it makes sense that he says he started it, I guess we can say it wasn't really a band before he joined Tom and Scott when he was introduced by Anne.

i've seen that interview before. i think there are a lot of misconceptions about the origins. prior to 2001, the story often repeated was that tom and scott were already linked, and then later mark came along. the publication of tales from beneath your mom focused heavily on the bromance between mark and tom, and led to the perception that scott was an afterthought, and that the true genesis of the band was sparked between mark and tom. scott even alludes to it as much in his 2004 chat with jason tate, where he says "they are rewriting the books."

the truth is probably a bit of both. it's likely that tom and scott were already playing together -- as big oily men, as whatever, who knows -- throughout '92. but when tom met mark it truly became what it was because their bond was so reportedly immediate and connected.

as for the band writing scott out, i think that TFBYM made it feel that way, but they've been more honest lately. as recently as this week, mark was a guest on the new teen beat podcast, and he explains that tom and scott were previously a pair, then he came into the picture.
