Thibaut182 Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Spoiler Maybe that ride cymbal accident took place at Sokol Hall in Omaha, Nebraska during the Sno Core Tour 1998 and could explain the "low point" on this tour date in Joe Shooman's book ? No further explanation in the book but throwing this out there! 🤷♂️ There's not a lot of information about that Nebraska date 1 Quote

As far as I know, this is the first time the story has come out. Quote

Essentially says the obvious — that GD was on the downswing and blink were on the upswing, and Mark surmises they hated them for it. Questions why they agreed to it in the first place. Blink was contracted to close each show, but it got complicated because GD violated aspects of the contracts — they had included some sort of stipulation that they only would go on at dark, and in some areas they played that was very late, pushing Blink’s start time later and later to where on some nights they had to cut their set short to avoid curfew in some cities. And there were other weird power plays too. additionally, says that backstage Billie Joe and Mike were super kind, but it was like a switch flipping at showtime — they were super competitive and aiming to show Blink up. Mark concedes that Blink were less impressive live and had grown stagnant. Says Tre Cool was super pissed though because it was obvious Travis was a technically gifted drummer and it invited comparisons. also says they’ve asked for a rematch multiple times but GD rebuffs them every time 4 Quote

Yup, and Mark even says it was obvious that Blink’s chops weren’t where they needed to be. But the idea of having to play second fiddle to Blink clearly both infuriated and motivated GD Quote

Russel Coight Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Green day are great but blink were the bigger and more relevant band in 2002. 3 Quote
Sgt. Rainbow Posted March 31 Posted March 31 Lol mark wanting a “rematch” with Green Day is fucking stupid. Blink has never been at any point in time, and never will be, a better live act than Green Day. Blink can roll out all the pitch correction, computers, and backing tracks that they want, they will never come close to being as good live as Green Day. Morons will clown or crab this comment Quote

Right because blink is so cool now. You guys literally just live in your little blink-182online safe space and make up your own reality. Which band was most recently nominated for a Grammy? Quote
