Monkey Chips Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 They just canceled a show appearance at "Soundside Music Festival" and now they announced that they are going on a Hiatus to focus on their families (following the Dave Grohl controversial news). https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/foo-fighters-set-hiatus-dave-154503715.html Quote
Speedo Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 Big Me is a great song and I like the lead in Monkey Wrench; outside of that I don’t care about Foo Fighters or Dave Grohl. So, it’s whatever. That being said, I don’t think Grohl’s a bad person and I think Foo Fighters probably ended the day Taylor died and this is probably just a convenient way to end it. 1 Quote
_Kyle_ Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 band should of ended in 2002, but I guess they make people happy with the new stuff. anyway, it's probably better for him to get his life in order. 1 Quote
Scott. Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 Big Me is probably the only one I’d go out of my way to listen too. Maybe My Hero. Oh and Everlong obviously. 2 Quote
boxelder Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 good greatest hits of a band, and i really liked the last album, which was the most honest and compelling work they've made since maybe colour and the shape. shocking what grohl did. been a turbulent few years for them. his hot ones appearance seemed humorous but now seems like an alcoholic cry for help in retrospect. dude has been living hard. Speedo Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 A mosquito, my libido Kurt Cobain would vote for Speedo! Quote
Knapppers Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 I feel like I view them the same way a casual fan views blink. Love their greatest hits and maybe the odd deep cut but that's about it. They were definitely a few years past their expiry date. Quote
Knapppers Posted May 17, 2025 Posted May 17, 2025 I guess they fired Josh Freese the other day. Curious who they'll get for a drummer now Quote
Jan Mortensen Posted May 18, 2025 Posted May 18, 2025 They really are a greatest hits band. It feels like Grohl is just taking from his old rock bands and mimicking them/role playing more than his own personal music. That said can’t help but like a few songs. big me, times like these, best of you, first album Run is the only recent song I kinda liked They really jumped shark for me when they made the 666 movie or w.e and Dave grohl going in this Billie eilish im your biggest fan it’s so authentic of me etc etc annoys me. continuing on without Hawkins obviously feels disingenuous 1 Quote

Run and then the song they wrote about Taylor "over you" are the only 2 new songs i like and know. Quote
William J. Laimbeer Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 Ilan Rubin new drummer for Foo Fighters Quote
Jan Mortensen Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 Can they just stay on Hiatus? I feel like they've proved their point. Quote

If they don't want to write anything themselves anymore, maybe? Foo Fighters are also redundant as fuck. Please don't start a new argument about how every band is better than blink 182 - on the blink182 message board today, thank you. 1 Quote

What is blink proving these days or have left to prove? You act like they’re above the same very critique that you just put on the Foo Fighters. You are terribly biased. Try to keep the same energy across the board, bud. Quote
