Right they don't owe us anything. But we don't owe them anything either: We don't owe them a favorable opinion of their music, we don't owe them our business, and we certainly have a right to freedom of speech as well.

    So here we are.

Any other basics you would like to cover Dan?

I mean, If someone is no longer a fan...they can just leave.  To obsessively complain about a band on their own fan page, says more about that individual and their personal issues than the actual critique of the band.

LOL, the whole #metoo movement has caused people to suppress natural biology and feel guilty for having thoughts about sex. What a sad little generation.

Are you 15 years old, or do you just walk around with a boner all day?

I work in a office surrounded by women.  If I acted like this I would no longer have a job.  There is plenty of contact without it being sexual.  Most of them just want to be friends and hang out, like one of your buddies without you popping a chub every time they touch your shoulder.

Nah, Tom could play the old songs just fine. One day (in 2010 or 2011) someone asked him to play Waggy out of the blue on modlife and he nailed it.

that's because he wasn't drunk, like he was at the shows.

I remember after the blink breakup Mark said he didn't like The Adventure. But then after the blink reunion Mark said he liked The Adventure. lolol

No, mark always liked the adventure, it was the rest of the album he didn't like.

"The verses in the first single were cool, but everything just fell apart after that. The rest of the songs on the album seemed long and repetitious." - Mark Hoppus

Tom also used some unused Blink 182 material on the album.

"During the long hours of downtime on tour, we would go in there and lay down ideas for the next blink-182 album. There were some cool songs started in those dressing rooms. After Tom quit, our old manager called and said that he was going to take some of the ideas that we had started on the tour and rerecord them for Tom’s new band. When the Angels and Airwaves record came out, I was actually excited to hear what had become of those ideas. There were some great beginnings in those demos. I was really disappointed in what became of them, though, for the same reasons I mentioned above. I thought they would have made great blink-182 songs, but something got lost in the translation."

I'm not trying to read these past few pages. What's the status update on this? Did people realize that Tom was a pioneer? Or are people still trying to say that he didn't pioneer a single thing

    1. develop or be the first to use or apply (a new method, area of knowledge, or activity).

    So...what exactly did Tom pioneer?

God Damn, the people who dislike Adam's song just blow my mind. That song was like the tipping point for getting into Blink. WMAA and ATST were of course amazing, but that song was proof that Blink could take their unique concept and translate it into a ballad. The drums on that song are ground breaking in style, the lyrics are amazing, the song structure, just everything, I think it was a ground breaking piece of music.

Are you people smoking crack or something?

Not to cherry pick your statement, but I don't think ATST was that good......at all.  I think it was the amazing music video that launched that song, but as it stands by itself...there isn't much there lyrically...or even musically.  I honestly believe it is one of their worst songs, and why some people don't respect the band.

lol I found this on reddit (all credit to u/Magnius), What Tom really said in his post...I'm dying lol

"We DO have a future together if we want it, but for now we are busy doing separate things. Speaking of the FUTURE I am directing a movie this summer, releasing a couple more albums of music and digging deeper into my Sekret Machines Project (FOR SALE NOW!!) with the US Department of Defense. You can find the release on my new website tothestars.com!!!!!!

I know people are comparing the Angels and Airwaves Chasing Shadows EP (CURRENTLY ON I-TUNES!) to the new Blink-182 music, and that is a failed task. We are different people after different things. For one, I think having a song-writer that came in on the Blink album (Feldy- 5 Seconds of Summer, Good Charlotte....LAWL) was something they desired, and that in itself may be an indicator of some of our current artistic differences that are difficult to overcome. I've just always liked the song-writing I did as I am the CREATOR of Blink 182. But, at the end of the day, I support their desires......desires sounds like a good name for my next album....anyhow....

Earlier this year, I was recording the song NEW WORLD (on the DEMOS album titled after my own name AND SOON TO BE BUNDLED WITH MY FUNKO POP ACTION FIGURE!) and that was my first early opinion of where I could possibly take Blink for the next album and into the Galaxy!! At the end of the day, both of us have ideas, but mine were better... Now, we are at different places in our minds, careers and goals, I get it, just as you should get CHASING SHADOWS also available on Google Play!

But that said, I obviously want them to make the music they wish, as long as I get royalties. I have always been thankful for them in my life because it made me a butt ton of money, but I am a forward thinking artist, and sometimes that leads me down a different and far-reaching path, all the way TO THE STARS! That is why I have done progressive projects like: Box Car Racer, Angels and Airwaves- "LOVE" Feature Film and it's albums 1 & 2, and even the "Dream Walker" Album, with the accompanying animations and Novel etc...and not Blink...they just weren't progressive..you know? FUCK SHIT FUCK...ahh..still have it!

I look forward to my upcoming film and music adventures, and a hell of a lot more...that you can buy for a discounted price when bundled with music that I've only spent a couple days making! ....Maybe throw in a bit of Blink-182, if we can build back that "special something" that was once there, and as long as I don't have to do any more touring...or making music...unless the price is right."

Thank you for the shout-out!  :D

There's a difference in writing a joke song and thinking blink is a joke. That's where people started hating on him

Exactly, he has categorized blink as "dick and poop jokes", and says he has grown from that.  Also basically breaking down the fanbase to teenage fangirls.
When 90% of Blink's music is anything but dick and poop jokes.  It tackles love, relationships, and very serious issues like suicide, divorce, friendship, and losing friendship.  He breaks Blink down to the %10...which most of that was just extra songs on TOYPAJ and banter in between songs on TMTATS.

I know I shouldn't take it personally, but I did.  Being a big fan of Blink, it seemed like he was calling us all immature and it was time to move on.  It wouldn't have bugged me..if he had not have repeatedly said it over and over again in interviews.

Then...he turns around and does a "joke" song (Golden Showers in the Golden State)...which I still don't understand what the joke was even supposed to be.  It was just a song that had a lot of Fucks, mom's touching dicks, taking a shit on someone's chest, and saying it is hot in California.  Where is the joke....it is just a potty mouth song...and is not funny.  What sucks the most....musically...this song is amazing, the lyrics ruin it.

Oh no kidding? Did not know that. Thanks for filling me in.
I can sympathize with that. I had surgery for acid reflux too but it was on my stomach.

Don't get too excited though.  It was literally #1 only for a few minutes, then got knocked back down.  Tom had to sit there waiting for it to hit number one, then take a screen shot.

This is different, it has been up on #1 all day, not just for the few minutes after the song went on sale.

  10. HAHA

You people are so sad! can you not recognize true art? You are SHEEP to the blink-182 machine that Tom has finally escaped. blink-182 is nothing without Tom Delonge. and do you know what blink-182 was to him? A PHASE.

Do you plan on listening to songs about girls and first dates and beastiality into your 40s? It's time to grow up and accept Tom Delonge for what he is…..a visionary!

I feel bad for all the people here who aren't smart enough to grasp this. Listening to this song makes me cry tears of inspiration. It is so far above your heads it is sickening. But I guess it's not surprising considering you all still relate to songs about STDs and doing your homework.

    I fucking love you!!!!

Edit:  Just caught up.  Seeing this as a joke every once in a while is funny, but only once in a while.  When you start posting regular..the joke starts to wear thin.

  11. 9/10 would love or at least like the song if it was released under Blink without all the drama...just saying.

That is kind of a bullshit thing to say.  I've seen people criticize Neighborhoods in much of the same way.  Just because we are blink fans, does not mean we will eat up everything they put out.

  12. This is my thought that I posted on reddit.

I like the sound of it (I am a fan of acoustic stuff), but seriously...I can't for the life of me interpret what this song is about. It's obvious it is about a soldier coming home from war, but the lyrics actually make no fucking sense. This is the one place that the song is kind of disappointing. I like the sound, but not the song itself.

  13. Matts voice is too monotone for my liking, atleast to be singing Toms parts. As bad as Tom sung, he still had that high pitched, different sounding voice. Matts is just kinda bland to me, similar to marks. I hate to be negative because this is still really cool, having someone who actually cares play guitar

Take into consideration, it is his first time playing these songs (singing and guitar), he's reading off of a teleprompter, and he already said he is nervous.  Anyways, I think he sounds pretty damn amazing!

  14. i just listened to it 3-4 times on the release day and once on the next day, and now i can't recall it's melody at all. so it's definitely forgettable.

Yeah, all my hype is gone.  I'm not even excited for the next song.  I almost wished that I did order the album...just to make myself interested.  Oh well, on with Blink 182 w/ Skiba.
