  1. Yes, trying to keep old Celtic languages alive...such a stupid gimmick

The main language spoken in Britain is English yes but Gaelic and Welsh are secondary for a lot of people in Scotland, Ireland and Wales and also around the world.

Anyway, the point I've been trying to make is that Britain does not just equal England and that there is no such thing as a 'British' accent because the UK is made up of four different countries.

i can actually speak some gaelic, my mums side of the family are from co. mayo in ireland, after spending countless summers there i can honestly say it is now a gimmick.

the kids growing up there don't even speak it.

the language spoken in britain is english, not the language used to bring tourists to the country.

someone from american would be told they have an american accent, yet people from brasil sound nothing like americans.

its just what people say, so someone from finland saying i speak with a britsh accent makes perfect sense to me

  2. MSandt, what do you study? or what kind of work do you do?

    if i may ask

and, about the pukkelpop thing, i agree with you. it would be (in my opinion) a little bit stupid to come to belgium& do a festival while there are the same festivals in finland. you could see some "culture" here, it just depends on what you like

and the english thing, its true there are other languages in britain

but the main language being speaked is english, isnt?

i like the english, irish and scottish accent lol

yeah English is the main language, in modern Britain the two other languages are just used as gimmick to put above the English version of sign posts. You will struggle to find some who can only speak Gaelic or Welsh.

Bored so i made a spotify playlist for pukkelpop.

    http://open.spotify.com/user/gaz_aot/playlist/57hYKTnuWOMwu3lQ05FHYB

i'll make it a collaborative so feel free to add

  3. about 6 of us are heading over from the uk for this, gunner bring our "vulgar dialect"(idiot) over to Belgium,

not really going just for blink, i have a leeds festival ticket but we've been going for the past 6 years and its getting boring now.

i'm really looking forward to QOTSA and the Prodigy.

are blink headlining a stage or are the playing before Placebo on the mainstage, its hard to make out from the website.

any tips for the fest or is it like everyother other festival?

i was thinking about going to Finland but it always snows and everyone is a racing driver

MSandt you are an absolute dingleberry
