    I really can't tell because I'm not a producer, and OMT songs are a league better than Nine, and the guitars do sound better on it.  But you may be right Nine was better produced.  I don't necessarily trust Travis much to reach a level of 90% of the other pro producers out there that have been doing it for their careers.  And I don't even know who did Nine, sounds like it was a mixture of people?

    It was because tragedy erased their memory

    The production ruined the album, again.  They just have to go on either side of the spectrum of extreme, since Neighborhoods.  Neighborhoods with a little better production would make for some good stuff (but would also be ridiculous and suck if reached California levels), California/Nine would still not be that great, but would benefit from tetering more towards Neighborhoods production.  OMT would be an all-timer with slightly toned down production. 

    It's clearly a step up from California/Nine for me, but I'm not ready to crown it over NH and put them about the same ballpark for the simple fact it is hard to listen to.  For as much as Neighborhoods lacks and offers a little less than OMT, I simply don't feel like I just had someone drilling the side of a wall next to me for an hour if I want to put it on for a long duration or the full week.

     

    I'm still irked over See You and Cut Me Off.  They aren't that bad of songs, but it just confirmed to me they still are into the whole 'churning' out songs thing instead of delivering a finished product - which is how majority of OMT felt when you're hearing stuff like Terrified, Turpentine, A3, DWM, Otherside, few fillers only.  So songs like YDKWYG were still awesome.  But once you just add in a few more churn outs, like the bonus tracks, now it's just saturated.  Which is basically what all of California/Nine was.  

    NH at least was about the music over factory/churning still, despite it's many flaws. 

    Mixed Feelings.  I'll take where we are at though.

    I don’t know why you lump Nine and California together as they sound quite different. California is more compressed. Nine sounds fairly clear and has more layers. I didn’t mind Nine’s production and would be fine if they stuck with it for OMT.

    He doesn’t strike me as a very articulate or insightful person so I’ll pass. Good guitar player tho

    I don’t have any pinpoints and don’t care to go watch all their recent live performances, but I definitely recall some rhythm guitar parts being used as backing tracks. I remember Tom either dancing around or having his hands on the mic when guitar parts were still playing. I know this is a meme at this point but Fap has a point, despite beating this dead horse issue
