My friend works for a big label (wont say which one) and i have a music studio. You wouldnt believe how many times he has phoned me up to meet at my studio and listen to stuff. He usually wont give me links to hold on to though. So probably a lot of label people have blinks album and let their friends listen to it.

Usually yes. Before neighbourhoods blink recorded with Jerry Finn who is a MASSIVE gear nerd. He had a special mixing board made for him that he tracked Toms guitar through. They tried different mics, cabs, guitars, chords, placements etc etc and recorded everything through tape which is a massive hassle but worth it. now people are noticing that tom is using guitar software, drums are replaced with samples, autotune is very noticable and everything is compressed and eq-ed to hell. Production on neighbourhoods was inconsistent and was lacking "something", but it was more natural, now its the opposite. they are following a trend. That sound. Maybe travis started it, i dont know. i listened to MTYK and then Down came after, and i was like jeez. Down sounds way more natural and unique, its like if another song had that sound you would say it sounds like Down. The newer stuff just sounds like everything else these days.

Yep. I knew it would sound like MGK and kenny hoopla. Super smashed, loud and sampled drums, but it kinda distracted me at first listen how LOUD the drums were. They drown everything and you struggle to hear the vocals. but holy cow these songs rip. Blink is back!
