Yea so what I’ve always done (and I think you may have even pointed it out at one time) is move my hand around to use my other fingers to play something whereas someone with longer fingers would have kept their hand in place and used their pinky. I can make it work but I’m just trying to get more efficient. We will see if it sticks though, I’m going to give it a fair try to change my ways lol. Even just changing my thumb placement is making it feel really awkward right now.

I never learned it but the the M&Ms riff doesn’t sound too hard to me. I can do hammer ons and pull offs just fine, my problem is stretching my fingers and specifically my pinky across the fretboard. It was pointed out if I lower my thumb a little bit that can help, which I am trying to get accustomed to doing. Been playing how I taught myself with bad technique for years so gonna take a bit to correct it. I’ll def try the exercise you mentioned tho!

Yea my new guitar teacher busted it out because I told him I want to get better dexterity and use of my pinky. As you all know, I can barley use that thing 😂. I’m gonna keep trying to chip away at this every day and hopefully figure it out eventually. Feels so unnatural to me.
