So glad I was too busy to check out the leaks. First time going in blind since Neighborhoods (excluding the 2 pre-releases). My first impressions are it’s pretty great and I can’t pick a favorite quite yet.

That +44 thing on Spotify has been happening for at least 2 years now. Kinda annoying as I still listen to songs from Mark's +44, which means I get recommended shite songs from this rapper +44 whatever music it is
I saw the song recommended when I was opening Spotify waiting for a train for work. I was so excited and 2 seconds in I’m like… this sounds very different. That’s not Travis drumming. Is Tom kicked out of blink again?
Wish this had been released on April Fools.
oh well, I’ll be listening to WYHSB instead.

I listen to like 3-5 songs once a year, maybe.

Honestly I do think Carousel needs to be back on the setlist. But we know Tom’s opinion on that song.

What the actual fuck? It’s 2024 and I enjoyed a Green Day album??? I think it was cohesive enough to do the job. It’s no Dookie, Nimrod or American Idiot but so far I’m pleasantly surprised. Each listen Saviors gets a little better, with at least half of the songs so far being jammers.
I’m no musician, but my favorite song is Fancy Sauce. It’s my new jam.

Sooo are they going to release a new CD with the additional tracks? I want a cd for my collection, but with everything on it.
I’m waiting for a vinyl to drop with the bonus tracks before I buy it. Unless it’s already out there…?

Not to change subjects… I’m sure it’s been brought up already, but seeing as how we found out Fell in Love was about Travis and Kourtney and not Tom/Marie, on the flip side, does anyone think Bad News, though sung by Mark, was about Tom’s divorce? It totally sounds like a Mark song to me, but the lyrics are about a breakup. It could be like Dammit where it’s about a nonexistent relationship… only Hurt plays right after, so it makes me wonder.
I’ve got no evidence to back this up other than the lyrics. Sorry if this was theorized earlier.

Still love a couple of their songs from the last two records, but I do feel this band is getting away from being a punk band with vague Springsteen vibes to a Springsteen band with vague punk roots, if that makes sense.
Their last few records is missing that raw, desperate feeling of defeat and the nonchalant shrug that followed.
Hope is a Dangerous Little Thing is still a banger, there’s some good songs, but I’m missing a bit of the attitude they had up through After the Party.

I’m still digging it. Listen 2-3 times a week. It’s been helping me out through some difficult times with a pet.

Surprised the greatest hits didn’t do better tbh
I did my part and bought the greatest hits CD as I thought Another Girl, Another Planet was going to be the last song blink ever released!

Seen a lot of speculation that the dates coincide and look like they could be playing Lolla this year. It would work out based on the schedule.
Would explain the lack of a Chicago date.
I never wanted to go back to Lolla but would for blink. Riotfest would be better but the dates don’t seem to line up with their tour.

Yeah I’m a coffee snob and I can’t just catch up with friends for coffee because I nit pick if the coffee is good or not. I’m trying my best to be less of a dickhead ?
It’s like that being a filmmaker. Sometimes I’ll catch an odd cut or edit in a movie and I’ll be like “huh, that didn’t quite work.” But I just try and look at each movie and say, “Was the film doing what the filmmakers set out to do to the best of their abilities?” If their vision feels in tact, I don’t mind the little things and will ultimately judge the end product only against itself.
I think blink made the record they wanted to make, and there might be some objectionable complaints, but we cannot deny that it was at least coherent this time.

This is up there with I’m Lost Without You for me right now. It’s amazing to see blink continue their tradition of nailing the last song. Please Take Me Home, I’m Sorry, Even if She Falls, Anthem, California (didn’t love that one but it grew on me), and even Remember to Forget Me wasn’t bad. I feel this song has continued the tradition.

Great interview. I’m so glad Travis is the glue of this band that holds them together in this day and age. The fact Travis was bringing up Tom’s return proves it was almost an inevitability. Also… kinda sad for Nine. It was briefly mentioned but the praise mostly went to California in this interview. I know it charted better but… also glad to see Mark’s honesty about writing songs for other people always ends up being forgettable whereas when he writes music for himself that’s personal, he gets a much better reception. I thought +44 would’ve proven that but he needed to do it with Bored to Death to feel creatively fulfilled.
Our snotty little punk band is growing up and it truly warms my heart.

Why is Tom looking in the other direction? Is that a secret message? Does it mean he will leave again to pursue his NASA dreams? Am I being too paranoid? It's like being in a relationship where your partner has cheated on you 2 times and you are with him/her still.
I'm joking, haha... yeah, haha.
Tom was abducted by aliens. That’s why. Let’s go crazy with the Paul-Is-Dead theories regarding Tom looking the other direction!

We spin OMT on our roadtrips. It helps knock off about 75 minutes of the drive and it really does feel like blink again.
