And what problems does he have that you keep talking about since you seem to know he has problems.
Only an intellectually dishonest person would dispute that a person who gets drunk every time prior to performing has problems.
It was already hinted that Tom drinks because he's nervous. While being nervous is normal, you don't treat it with alcohol.
If it bothers you THAT much that he drinks while he tours, you don't HAVE to watch them.
It doesn't bother me THAT much because blink is more than just Tom's live singing. (AvA is unbearable though.)
dude it's not like travis and mark don't drink. I'm sure they do. Mark definitely drinks at least occasionally before shows, just not nearly as much as Tom.
Eh, I don't see Mark or Travis drunk on stage. If they take a sip of beer before heading on stage I don't see that as a problem. But when one of them is always drunk that is a problem.
Let tom do as he wants because he's a grown-ass man and its not like he's snorting coke or doing heroin before going onstage, but rather drinking which is something any adult can legally do.So if one of your friends started showing up at your house always drunk, you'd just "let him do as he wants" and try not to talk about it?
Simply because people can do something doesn't mean they should.

Going to a workplace and playing rock shows are two entirely different things.
Live shows are built around fun. Drinking helps people have more fun. The workplace is not a place for fun.
Using your logic, it would be disrespectful for people in the audience to drink as well.
They're two different occupations but you're still expected to act professionally and respectfully toward your audience/customers/clients no matter what your profession is.
The same does not apply to the audience. They're not performing but consuming. The band wants the audience to have fun because it is the function of the band to entertain. Of course some may find it entertaining that Tom is drunk every time he plays but I'm betting most would rather see him play sober and deal with his problems. It cannot be good for the band if two guys are always sober and one is stinking drunk.
-
It's more pathetic that a pompous person such as yourself has to cry about how other people choose to have fun.
I didn't criticize him for having fun. I criticized him for being disrespectful and not dealing with his problems.
-
I don't get why it's such a big deal that Tom drinks who cares it's what bands do.
Because it's fucking pathetic that a grown man has to drink every time he's about to get on stage.
Blink isn't the only band that drinks before/while they play. A LOT of other bands do it..Hell just go watch Sum-41 warped tour updates.
It's not uncommon for bands to drink and play, that's why i don't see it as such a huge deal.
So what? I don't care what other bands do because I don't listen to them and Tom certainly doesn't drink just because others drink too. He drinks because he has problems and those problems are not gonna go away by drinking.
Couldn't disagree with you more on this. Just because you drink doesn't mean you have problems. His main reason for drinking is probably because he's nervous, he has even said that. Another big reason is it probably makes the shows a hell of a lot more fun.
It's always more fun to play music, listen to music, sing, dance, or whatever when drunk.
If Tom drinks every time he's on the job, he's got major problems. If he's nervous, it's not gonna get better by drinking. In fact, he only makes it much harder for himself to ever perform sober.
I don't see Mark or Travis fooling around drunk and yet they seem to be having a lot of fun playing music. Performing to an audience while drunk is disrespectful, kinda like coming to your workplace drunk.

So the only band you listen to is Blink?
About 80% of the music I listen to is blink.
But this is, of course, irrelevant. Even if I did listen to some other bands whose frontmen drink on tour I still wouldn't consider such behavior acceptable. As I said, it's fucking pathetic that a grown man has to drink.

This dude has some good videos.
Yeah
Love how they've begun to do the old Cheshire intro to the song.

No need to be, many people never browse that thread.
There could be a "general interview topic" though.

MSandt, what do you study?
Economics and contemporary history.
and, about the pukkelpop thing, i agree with you. it would be (in my opinion) a little bit stupid to come to belgium& do a festival while there are the same festivals in finland. you could see some "culture" here, it just depends on what you likeYeah, gotta keep an eye on wikipedia, maybe something interesting pops up.
Btw, you said that the event itself never gets sold out but what about hotels in the area? Are they packed full or do all concert-goers just camp out somewhere?
-
but why would you want to see culture?? its a fuckin festival!!!
5 days of music, girls and things that will not make you sober
Plenty of that in Finland too, to the point that it'd feel a bit pointless to travel all the way there just to get drunk.
What are you talking about? I wish people would stop referring to England as Britain.
Around here people refer to Britain as England.
Exactly the same thing. Britain is made up of four different countries with 3 different languages. It's extremely ignorant but from reading your previous posts, that doesn't surprise me much.
It's not ignorant; it's just a habit just as naming the entire modern Germany after one ancient Germanic tribe in official French (Allemagne) and Finnish (Saksa) languages. The habit does not involve any value judgements and needs to be considered in a historical context.

in belgium it rains a lot too, but normally, 19th of august, the sun should shine:)
yeah language is definately not a problem here, we all speak english and french and dutch pretty well.
we've got 3 official languages: dutch, french and german.
Is there anything else worth seeing around the location, like some cultural shit or something?
i was thinking about going to Finland but it always snows and everyone is a racing driver rolleyesMSandt you are an absolute dingleberry
We've got a few hockey players too actually.
And all Britons are soccer hooligans who drink tea.
-
Yeah, the "language" they speak over there is just some vulgar dialect.

I'd take this as an opportunity to see some of continental Europe as well. I'm not particularly interested in seeing Great Britain because of the terrible weather over there. Of course I expect to run into communication problems in Belgium more than I'd in the UK but I still assume that Belgians (Flemings at least) are able to speak English.
wat
i guess maybe you should avoid the netherlands because of all the cloggs, or germany because of all the sausages, or poland because of all the plumbers. hey fuck it, never go to australia because it's upside down and full of koalas, and while you're at it completely fuck america because it's SO OBVIOUS that if you're not obese you're not welcome.
idiot.
Ooh, a bit touchy! Did I hit a soft spot?
Plus the British accent is horrible.

Damn, this would be like the perfect opportunity then. They're not coming to Scandinavia so Belgium would be ideal.
Just too bad I'd have to travel alone; my friends either hate blink or are bums.
I'm just a bit concerned about Tom; you never know if he gets carried away with something.
-
How fast this thing is usually sold out?
-
Is anyone interested in the blinditachil7 vids?
Yeah, it'd be cool to have both.

She gives me rim jobs on the stairs, hah hah, love the new jokes Tom mixes in with the songs.
Too bad they didn't play or start with Another Girl Another Planet, would have symbolized their "continuation" since it was their last song together but I guess they won't play it because it's just a cover.

With blink, it's not so bad, but Tom's been yapping about AvA's greatness since its inception, greatness he cannot deliver with such sloppy performances. Tom probably has no idea how bad he sounds or then he does but drinks in order to deal with it, exacerbating the problem. This is a bit strange, because Tom really wanted to make AvA big.
