  2. Cali’s back on the menu, boys!
  3. I don’t care for the distorted tones but I love the clean tones on the record. Best examples I could think of are No, It Isn’t and Interlude. Even the slightly dirtier tones like in Baby Come On and Weatherman (after the first chorus) are sweet as well. It’s not really that special when looking back at it but the album is nostalgic and reminds me of a summer night near the water.
  4. It was a Black Friday exclusive. I snagged one before they sold out and I’m still waiting for it to show up. Probably the only blink shirt I’ll wear nowadays lol but I did like Bad Religion parody shirt they made a couple years ago. Too bad it doesn’t fit me anymore.
  5. It looks kinda tacky, especially with the hollow-body design. Works better with the strat, but it would at least look better if the inlays went past the 12th fret. Just bothers me that it looks unfinished, but I don’t really like them in the first place.
  6. It’s interesting, but they look a little plain and unfinished. Even the one Tom sticker’d up still seemed naked to me, might just be the paintjobs. Tom probably wants (or has) to differentiate it from his Gibson but I’d love to see a racing stripe on one of them.
  7. Still hard to believe that Tom is actually back in the band.
  8. It was an unique feature from the band to do on a couple songs every now and then, but it was overused during the Skiba era, which wasn’t as effective when Matt obviously had more vocal qualities similar to Mark than Tom. I guess the band was hesitant on letting Matt have his own song, which I get on California, but everything after should’ve included at least one solo song with Matt. Mark had Good Old Days, Happy Days, and the joke songs (which is acceptable, don’t want Matt on a joke song unless it utilized his humor - which wouldn’t have happened likely). Not gonna make a list of songs Matt should’ve sang entirely on because it’s fairly obvious.
  9. I know it’s been discussed a couple pages back and (probably) won’t happen, but it would be cool if blink dropped a mega collection of b-sides and demos from all eras, which would include those pre-Feldy sessions and other scrapped material before Tom rejoined. I’m guessing Mark’s insecure about that shit but I’d bet you could get some good money out of it from die-hards. *sigh* Maybe they’ll release something from the vault whenever they finally retire and need some extra cash.
  10. From what I’ve seen, most would declare the Darkside video as their worst, but it’s honestly more creative than BTD being a lamer version of UAN and SOOHM literally copying WMAA? but with Adam Devine and Vine stars who couldn’t try to realistically mimic playing their instruments. I guess the gender reversal is cool but the remake seemed so forced, so I would confidently say SOOHM is the worst blink video of all time. The Skiba era didn’t have the best music videos but at least HISALP was unique and heartwarming & Happy Days was a fun reflection of the time period. Quarantine was ok and Generational Divide is kinda hard to rank for just filming the band play for 50secs. I just forgot about NACS, but that video was sick. One of my favorite videos from blink and personally the best one from the Skeebs saga. I will probably rank all of them later since I’m this far in lol.
  11. May have misremembered, just remember people raving about his physique and probably slid in that joke when he posted this photo a couple years back. Lighting definitely helped there. https://www.instagram.com/p/B1T90EnJdA3/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= Regardless, they all look great for their age nowadays.
  12. To be fair, Tom was basically jacked like 3 years ago. It’s probably just an awkward angle as he’s already dressing better and looking healthier than he did a decade ago, but yeah it’s little weird especially at this age. Tom and Mark are probably gonna slim up after running around on stage every night for several months. That’s gotta be a workout.
  13. You’re telling me…I’m 22 and been lurking here as early as 2014, while joining the following year. I got into blink by 2012 or 2013, but experiencing the Skiba era unfold on here was apparently my “nostalgic moment” with blink, which is so fucking weird to think about. I’m gonna miss him, but it feels like a distant fever dream looking back at his time in blink. I don’t have much of a musical bias towards any era of the band. I like it all for different reasons. Was gonna buy tickets to see them at least once before they call it quits someday, but Ticketmaster is telling me otherwise. Back to the boards, I figured the youngest of the regulars was like at least 30 so I’ve been trying hard to refrain from using any zoomer language here. 😆
  14. Shit’s getting wholesome with Matt and Tom. Now I’m wanting a four-piece again. I hope Matt collabs with the band at some point or at least ALK3 does a tour with them sometime.
  15. Song is infectious. Living rent-free in my head.
  16. I think Tom threw up more gang signs than mimicked playing.
  17. Love how Mark looks like he was in the middle of running errands.
  18. Yeah it wasn’t that big of a deal lol. I’m personally not a fan of the production but I get why they went for that. Was just cool to hear more of the guitars and other things that are hidden in the mix, makes the song a lot more appealing IMO.
  19. So now that Matt is out, is Travis going back to being the quiet one? I feel like we know waaaaay too much about him now for our own good lol.
  20. This guy made an alternate mix of the song, with the guitars and bass brought up while lowering the vocals. Haven’t listened with headphones yet but it sounds a little better. Not perfect but you can at least make out more of what’s happening now. Also SugarpillCovers did a sweet cover of the song already, and you can hear that cool little riff that was hiding in the chorus, which adds a lot to the song IMO.
  21. Before the song came out officially, I was attempting to play through the entire set of Reading 2014 on my shitty Jazzmaster. At some point, I turned on the leak of Edging and it’s really fun to jam to, so I’ve warmed up to it. That swing rhythm they’ve got going on really gets you dancing and the song is an earworm, whether you like it or not. I guess that was the goal here. The official version a little better. You can hear the guitars a little more now, still not much going on but Tom does some cool little things in the chorus, which would be nice to hear if the drums and overall vocals weren’t drowning everything out. Really annoyed that pop songs are under 3min now, no wonder there’s no riff or breathing room for anything. Same complaints as before but it’s alright, I give it a C. I now get what they were going for lyrically and Tom still sounds fucking cool. Poor Mark got sabotaged but he sounds alright in his verse. Hope the production isn’t this bad for the rest of the songs, the drum sound is really pissing me off. Shit, just get the Rubins solely involved if they aren’t gonna look for an outside producer in the future, Tom’s vocals and guitars sounded the best out of everything. I’m sure Aaron or even Ilan can get a better drum sound than this.
  22. I could see Matt knowing as early as Mark, Tom, and Travis hit the studio together, or whenever they were planning out the world tour. I’m assuming the earliest Tom talked about officially returning was shortly after they all met in person for the first time when Mark was first diagnosed, so spring/summer 2021? Didn’t one of them say that they were trying to keep the recording process as discreet as possible? I’m just assuming that they told Matt to deflect any rumors about Tom coming back. I wonder if that’s why the three of them didn’t bother to have an outsider as the producer. Then again, blink (with Tom) has been self-produced since Jerry died. I don’t know if there was a possibility that Matt didn’t know if he would still be in the band with Tom, which is why he made the “your guess is as good as mine” comment a couple months back. He also mentioned about finishing up a blink album they wrote and recorded remotely in an ALK3 interview earlier this year, saying that it got “shelved” when Mark was diagnosed and that “greater things are taking precedent.” Regardless, if Mark/Travis didn’t tell him, I’m sure management or some legal team did several months ago. Would be shitty if it was done that way, but I hope that’s not the case and we learn more as the new era unfolds. I know Matt sort of got the short end of the stick, aside from more money and fame, but I doubt there is much bad blood, if any.
  23. Tom’s fairly grounded and enthusiastic now, but we’ll see if it holds up by the end of the tour. I’m honestly surprised all three are willing to do a world tour for that long, hopefully Tom can get his other projects done in the downtime so he doesn’t leave in like 6 years again.
