One month later: what's your favorite California track?
bennett replied to Barskiboppus's topic in Blink 182
cynical all day. hey, i'm sorry second -
sometimes its just great to shut your mind off about the past 10 years and just really appreciate seeing the 3 of them playing a song like that live
-
I very highly doubt the band has anything to do with setting anything up
-
to be fair, it's really not a time for entertainment. if you're being professional about it you're getting all your levels and making sure everything sounds ok for the set later
-
for me it's the most straight up classic blink song on the album. love it
-
they took out no future for tottm. not too happy about that, both should be in the set. guess they're going to stick to only 5 new songs. plus the 2 joke songs
-
I love that they added that, thought it needed to be played love for sure. Hope they didn't cut another new one though
-
some say they miss the banter, but since they got back its been so painfully forced. tom pretty much said the same thing each night
-
hearing the crowd sing and go so crazy for cynical is a very cool thing. look mark you dont have to rely on old songs!!
-
dude is having the time of his life
-
So that's why he's been wearing trucker hats haha. Anything for a buck
-
if mark didnt even want to write SD in the first place, i doubt he'll want to play it live
-
Lol, mark says rabbit hole is a song they'll probably play live forever. First show and they don't play it. No reason it couldn't have been added as well as soohm. It's a damn California tour, play the songs
-
Man cynical was so great to hear. I could totally see it opening the show, with it being pitch black during marks quiet vocals and then the lights and fire go off when the music first hits. Feeling this is the best and a great opener, but I'm so ready for something new! Won't happen, I know
-
really sounded great. very happy
-
i couldn't be more happy they're playing more than 2 songs. someone must haven finally gotten through to mark about it. and the way that he talks about him and trusts him i'd say theres a decent chance it was feldman. clearly it wasn't always the plan from mark interviews and even travis recently saying they'd only be adding rabbit hole and soohm
-
please please do not listen to any of the recent stuff. put up or shut up/so wrong it's right is all you need
-
will be my 5th time as well. last time was in 2011 and my gf at the time threw a fit and was crying about something before hand, then made us go late and we got there halfway through the set with lawn tickets. i'll be in the pit at jones beach with my best friends in a few weeks. gonna be a really great time
-
i'd pick mark no question, but i do think if it were a simple hangout situation where tom didn't have to promote any of his garbage or put on his batshit crazy alien pesona etc, he'd still be cool to hang with for a day
-
another thing is the phrase "modern pop punk bands". you have bands like good charlotte and 5sos who keep it very light and poppy, but the actual pop punk scene is nothing like this. bands like knuckle puck, real friends, neck deep, and the wonder years don't take that super pop influence. they're writing fantastic songs about life with great instrumentation behind it. the current state of pop punk is NOT the full on POP punk bands that blink is kind of emulating now. i LOVE california, but i take it for what it is. the only thing i'm tryin to get across is that the pop punk scene is much more than some of the fluffy bands it's been linked to here
-
i just dont understand how can you call a band like neck deep pussies when the entire blink album is fluffy nana's and oh's. i get that you have the standard blink bias, which is fine. but cmon dude
-
the sad thing is, im STILL not convinced they'll play them all each night
-
Lmfao... Taylor Swift got exposed. I fucking knew it.

i'm not really in on the whole thing, but wasn't her issue that specific bitch line and not hearing the finalized song? what was her original statement when it first came out? -
thaaats exciting to see!
-
mark has said in a few interviews he thinks rabbit hole is a song that they'll play forever. I'm sure it's just cut off near the end
