  1. EP I can probably do more easily, because I’m less worried about butchering the album sequencing. 1. Anthem Part 3 2. Can’t Go Back 3. Terrified 4. More Than You Know 5. If You Never Left 6. Turpentine Only thing I don’t like about this is leaving off the title track, but it’s not better than any of these 6 songs.
  2. Agreed. That song is 100% AVA, but Mark’s harmonies in the chorus single-handedly elevate the song for me, and give Always vibes. Makes me yearn for what could have been if things had played out differently in ‘05 or ‘15.
  3. One thing I am enjoying about Part 2 as a whole: Tom’s voice is really hitting its stride again. There are some bad takes here and there (can’t stand his “talk about it” in All In My Head, it sounds like he’s about to choke on saliva), but for the most part, he has done a really good job working the raspy punk edge back into his voice without it sounding forced. Neighborhoods/DED were full AVA voice, and while One More Time was a step in the right direction, I think this release is the one that he finally feels fully “back”.
  4. Gonna have to play around with this a bit. I think the sequencing of the first 7 tracks is virtually perfect, so it’ll be difficult to move things around without breaking the flow. The back half of the album doesn’t feel quite as thought out, so I’ll probably make more changes there to squeeze in some part 2 tracks.
  5. Oh, 100% Mark didn’t either, but as you mentioned, he’s less in your face about it. Tom makes that immaturity his entire public persona, whereas Mark sometimes makes an effort to be the adult in the room; he always felt the more mature of the two, despite being a goofball himself. Again though, I have some inherent bias, so I can’t be totally objective here. 😂
  6. To play devil’s advocate, songs like that do feel more authentic with Tom in the band, since he never lost his immature, adolescent persona. Even during peak “I’M A SERIOUS ARTIST” era early on in AVA, he still told jokes about spreading barbecue sauce on his buttcheeks when I saw them live. I agree there’s definitely a bit of hypocrisy, but I get why those songs might feel more appropriate now than in the Skiba era. But also I’m admittedly a Tombot, so I can do plenty of mental gymnastics to justify liking this more than California.
  7. Tom. Is. Out.
  8. I’m higher on OMT than most; it’s been on repeat since release, which I haven’t done with a record since Untitled. 1. blink-182 - untitled 2. blink-182 - enema of the state 3. blink-182 - one more time... 4. blink-182 - dude ranch 5. blink-182 - take off your pants and jacket 6. blink-182 - neighborhoods 7. blink-182 - dogs eating dogs 8. blink-182 - cheshire cat 9. blink-182 - california 10. blink-182 - buddha 11. blink-182 - nine
  9. Genuinely surprised at how much I liked Everyone Everywhere. The snippet had me feeling pretty meh on it, but the I like Mark’s first verse better than the second, and the bridge and final chorus really elevate the song. Major BCR vibes, which I am always down to have more of. Overall really pleased. Still would take most of part 1 over most of part 2, but these are some damn good B-sides, with some real standouts. Awesome deluxe release.
  10. That was always my impression. Considering Tom had already written Golden Showers before the 2015 breakup, I’m still convinced the base idea for a California-style record was already in their plan, so they’re just following through with that now in the OMT era.
  11. Six new clips (via TikTok) in the stall: https://www.blink182.com/stall/ Click the handles and the new lyrics; each will take you to a different song.
  12. Finally listening to the songs on Apple Music now that they’re out in the states. Still kinda meh on All in My Head, but I’m loving No Fun now that I can hear it with good sound quality and notice all the little details. I do wish it had a bridge/final chorus, but it’s still a kickass song
  13. Probably Ghost on the Dance Floor and After Midnight back in the Neighborhoods era. Unless they did it during Skiba years; I admittedly didn’t pay much attention during that time.
  14. I’d actually never heard the Buddha version before today (didn’t realize the rerelease had a different track list than the original tape. Whoops). Interesting that the first verse’s lyrics are tamer in the Buddha version; given how unhinged the song is anyway, I was surprised it was originally only his thumb that was jammed ? I like both versions, but the Buddha version’s vocal delivery is definitely a bit flat, so Dude Ranch wins on the basis of feeling more playful all around.
  15. Apparently not with Neighborhoods, at least; I set a few people off in another thread by saying After Midnight was my favorite song on the record. ? Still would be interesting to see what songs have stuck with people.
