  1. I never once said its shit, I stated music before 1980 is overrated. Just because it started the trend of music, or a groundbreaking sound, doesn't necessarily make it "great music" (and i know that topic is completely subjective). I just believe that everyone puts The Beatles on a damn high ass pedestal that they no longer deserve to me. So many underground bands/artists that have a better all around sound than them, yet because they aren't recognized or the mass audience has yet to discover them doesn't make them any worse. I do respect all music. I'll never talk shit on just about any era of music because had it not been for them, much of the music today wouldn't have been. But they're completely outdated now. I honestly do not know how KISS got as big as they did. Also, never once said blink is the greatest band in the world. I'm a complete blinkbot and I know their music have maaaaaannnyyyy faults, but they're my personal favorite band of all time.
  2. Because of its simplicity & lack of emotional ties. Not talking about everything before 1980, but much of it was felt commercialized and in it for the love of money/fame.
  3. I can solemnly admit that my taste in music isn't the best, but not because I find music before 1980 overrated.
  4. Am I the only person here who thinks 95% of music pre-1980s is overrated?
  5. Justin Pierre was always my first choice, but that's because I never gave Alk3 a listen. I'm glad they went with Matt because Justin's lyrics are more cute/clever while Matt's are more deep/somber. But for Mark's replacement, I would have said Kenny Vasoli had it been 10 years ago. His taste in music has changed. I believe his last project (aside from a TSL reunion) was a ska band, before that was Person L.
  6. WYHSB was so somber and the lyrics were great. Many many quotable lines. Always takes me back during my high school emo days. California is what I've been listening to the most lately since leaked. Gives me a sense of getting over something type of feel. It'll always take me back to when everything great was going in my life, like getting accepted for my masters program and new job. I nulled because I'm a blinkbot.
  7. WDNTW was awesome. Very inspirational. Always takes me back to high school when I bought the morning of launch day while ditching school. Neighborhoods was the return of my all time favorite band. I ate that entire album up as it takes me back when I was dorming in college. Null vote based on me being a blinkbot.
  8. Love 1 & Love 2 have a good amount of songs in them. What those albums feel like are like soundtrack albums to a movie (which it is). This is possibly why many prefer the stadium rock vibe in I-Empire or the adventurous, yet powerful & positive driven album in WDNTW.
  9. Should have asked him about changing the greatest hits setlist instead about a book.
  10. Yeah but I'm sure Mark has had his fair share of creepers.
  11. Mark seems like an awkward person to talk to, but possibly because he's so guarded due to a history of creepy fans.
  12. Sober is this albums All The Small Things. It's meant to do damage on Billboard/mainstream charts. Personally, I'd rather No Future be the next single, but Sober is definitely a no brainier if they want another song everyone can hum to on many radio stations.
  13. Anyone notice Drake is back on top? Anyways, not sure if anyone does this but I usually do my (over)thinking at night when I'm relaxed. I am a blink bot but I can definitely point out California's weaknesses (repetitive song structure, simple lyrics, lack of several catchy guitars). I used to dislike the track list order of the album, but it kind of takes me on this emotional roller coaster (building up with anxiety filled lyrics in Cynical, continuing on with jumpy songs, and finally coming back down thru the hype starting with San Diego, a song that pin points the entire album's mood [which I'll get to in a second], & settling down with the album titled track & BroRh). This album makes me feel the acceptance of loss. The album tackles emotions about growing up as a young adult & up, but without feeling overly depressed. California (especially San Diego, if I had to choose one song to compare what the album feels to me) makes me feel like that time you realize you're out of that sadness phase of a loss/breakup & realize that while you'll always remember the fondness of memories, you realize it's time to move on & accept that acceptance is something everyone has to go through. Ending with a song like California + BroRa cheers me up a bit realizing that there's always happiness at the end of the tunnel. Anyone else feel this way about the album? Or is it just me?
  14. Haven't been posting as frequent as before. Whatsup fam!!!
  15. Mark sounded well. A bit flat on some parts but overall, very well.
  16. I only purchased a GA ticket for yesterday's date at $92. But I also have tickets for Irvine & Los Angeles.
  17. I was at last night's concert right at the front. I would like to take credit once again for the "Skiba! Skiba! Skiba!" chants from last night. Mark said something along the lines of (playfully upset), "well since you guys like Skiba so much, why don't you sing this song."
  18. I'll be at tomorrow's 2nd San Diego show. I am going to get there extremely early to be right in the very front & I will sing the fuck out of KotW or any California song they play tomorrow. I will also chant "Skiba! Skiba! Skiba!" tomorrow as I take full credit for starting the chant at the Soma show last year.
  19. I hope they're secretly filming their second music video before the tour begins.
  20. Not sure if this was ever posted but Ricegum's hilarious aftermath video:
  21. When does US billboards update? It still has Drake at #1
  22. Completely agree! Personally I'd like to have No a Future as their 2nd single, but you can't ignore Sober & its potential. I also personally prefer California over Home, but Home will make it farther.
  23. I never connected with All Time Low musically in terms of lyrics. They were more of a fun, pop punk band with super catchy hooks from Put Up or Shut Up, So Wrong It's Right, & Nothing Personal. What I loved so much about them was Jack & Alex's relationship. Reminded me so much of Mark & Tom's pre 2002.
  24. All Time Low attracted 16 year old me. I love their first couple of albums. Now they sound boring.
