It actually blows my mind these 2/3 can't accept some-many people just didn't like California-Nine. And has nothing to do with resisting change because of Tom. Many of us, if not all, went into it wanting the Skiba experience to give us new life. And it really just did not click. I don't get why that causes such a ruckus, replacing a lead singer is hard to make work. Especially in a tight knit trio like Blink. Resorting to everyone being worshipping Tombots in our 30s now is ridiculous..

I feel like this parallel is borderline _tarded. You're comparing the lead singer, main writer, guitarist of the band, with a POTUS candidate that happens to be a cult movement. Tom Delonge is not a cult movement, outside of Lehoe Dehoe. The United States Government is not equivalent to your favorite music band. If anything, Skiba/Feldy replacing Tom would represent the Republican party, because they never would make any changes, and were super corporate and conservative about their processes. Tom, return of, might not make the most exciting changes this time around, but it'd be like bringing back Obama no? Wouldn't be as exciting but at least the change/risk, more punk rock factor is there than what we got during California-Nine.

This. But I feel like Otherside would be a classic & deep Mark song, but the production kills it for me. MTYK and Edging come close but some of those lyrics drift into 'who wrote this?' generic stuff, and Edging just being kinda a weaker song in general. Terrified verses get me too, even if was Boxcar. 3 'real' songs is enough for me to defeat the entirety of California-Nine era. Real Blink is that good. That's why we get so ornery and cranky here, we just want that, and we wait 10+ years for ~3 real tracks lol.

I’m early 30s. And yes, makes sense that’s all you can grasp onto there because you and the KK lost this one, again.
-
Sure, Coight.

“California is great. Blink can do no wrong. Skiba & Feldy are a fantastic addition to the band.” ”Republicans winning is great. Trump can do no wrong. Vance & Elon are fantastic addition to the White House.” “Even though the band has always been Mark Tom & Travis and feels way more at home to have them playing together again. All fans agree. Skiba & Feldy were doing the same thing what’s the difference? They do the same thing as Tom.” ”Even though we stopped a nuclear war removing Trump from the White House. This new president in the White House is just as hypocritical with their words vs actions. Definitely feels good to be not unalived, but still, UGH. Democrats.” Can play this game all day.

Except pretty much everyone has complained about the same things, with Tom back, so you guys are just making shit up at this point because were unable to cope with the band being shit for a minute and Skiba not working.

Reachh The same can be said for the Cali/Feldmann cult that has developed here unable to accept it was poop. Isn’t that essentially more MAGA?

Clearly you don't believe in production matters. It does. It doesn't make or break a song, but it's always mattered. You're just jumping around topics here. The production in this song is generic plasticky ass. It only makes the song worse. The song is generic slop. Therefore the song is diarrhea. Much like majority of California - Nine songs. OMT had plenty of ass production, but better songs. A good song can outweigh it. And the songs are better on OMT. Facts
-
No...because the product isn't the same. The meal item is. If pop punk is a hamburger, there are still different levels of hamburger meals. Blink-lite, aka California-Nine era is just another basic hamburger, you can get at any chain grocery store. OMT is delicious. Not as delicious as the prime blink burgers we used to have back in the day, because they've lost or discontinued some of their ingredients, but still way more delicious than a grocery store chain bland burger.
-
This is just how modern credits are done. Business stuff. Taxes. Stuff like that.
-
Exactly. Couldn’t have said it better. Even a simple actual riff, written by Tom, lifts a generic song so much. Having Tom’s vocals contrasting Mark’s lifts a generic song so much. Otherwise it is just blink-lite. I don’t love the generic formula stuff either on OMT, or pre written songs like Take Me In make me want to pluck my ears off but when you mix in all the more authentic/creative songs like you mentioned, it’s not even the same stratosphere. Cali-what?
-
They’re similar tacos or cheeseburgers but you’re taking away the quality of meat, seasonings, and the bun altogether in some cases. It’s not the same.
-
You can’t hear the differences is the main problem. I actually understand where you are coming from but not hearing the differences between this, Cali-Nine and OMT (sans a few songs) is borderline intentional?
-
Liking this formula that takes all emotion out of the music is more culty than not liking it lol. Carlos is also spot on about swapping Matt in there and here’s yet again a Cali era song. It’s not a big deal anymore but you are still slinging ppl who didn’t like it is crazy
-
False. We definitely cared, and no it wasn’t as generic as Cali - pt 2 - Nine. But then again, I’m a bot that was designed for.. preferring the primary trio?
-
We’ll all be fighting to the graves on this.
-
I do not miss this cheesy production or cheap songs.
-
Beach boys/Brian Wilson tribute right now on CBS is pretty legit. I don’t really remember it, but Beach Boys was my first concert experience ever, I remember eating a giant turkey leg and then bouncing back and forth between BB and Verve Pipe..it was a cool concept. I was never a huge beach boys guy but the whole aura behind Brian Wilson and how he was able to tap into that music no one else could really create is nothing short of amazing
-
I feel like Knapton doesn’t like the new Turnstile album.
-
"Oh wow hip hop rock it's so cool" is exactly what I said after watching/listening to their first big album. I never disliked or liked them, liked a few songs, hate the overhype.
-
Patient I just want you to like me. Coddle me.
-
@Kay what are your songs that you put most effort in vs. least you were saying in terms of what gets the most hype from or something along those lines? I'm just curious if I fall subject to that trap, with knowing which are which. Did that make any sense? Hidden from Patient:
-
Every song sounds the same by Travis since his Tickets to my Downfall breakthrough. These are no different. Just added a cheap violin for Yellowcard, of course. That's soo Yellowcard. Better Days sounds good though. The production actually sounds pretty good here.

Oh wow so much character growth from age 38 to 39 old ass
