  1. Can anyone PM me the new track?
  2. Is there definitely a leak? I wanna listen
  3. 1 nine 2 untitled 3 enema 4 dude ranch 5 take off 6 neighborhoods (if this had colour this would've been up there, someone on this board has it as their sig and its ace) 7 mark tom & travis show 8 dogs eating dogs 9 cheshire cat 10 california
  4. Man I'm liking them little toilet stall clips
  5. Yeah, that's a fucking good song tbh I was vibing to that
  6. Quality Skiba era songs: First Time, Heaven, Los Angeles, Black Rain, Generational Divide, No Heart To Speak Of, Bottom of the Ocean, Long Lost Feeling, San Diego, On Some Emo Shit Good: Darkside, I Really Wish I Hated You, Last Train Home, Pin the Grenade, Quarantine Decent: Bored to Death, Blame It On My Youth, The Only Thing That Matters, Misery, 6/8, Hungover You Songs with good & bad parts: Happy Days, Run Away, Ransom, No Future, KOTW, Remember to Forget Me, Left Alone, Hey I'm Sorry Average: Cynical, HISALP, Good Old Days Bad: She's Out of Her Mind, Sober, Teenage Satellites, Rabbit Hole, California, Parking Lot, Don't Mean Anything, Wildfire Annoying thing about California is there's so many bad songs. On the albums where Tom is in blink, there's way less bad songs. What's even more annoying is some of the good songs would've been amazing if not for their bad parts. Hey I'm Sorry is the worst culprit for it
  7. Happy Days has good verses and a cool drum beat but the chorus is one of the most boring parts I've ever heard from blink. I get that it was trying to sound huge but it just doesn't sound huge like other blink songs that do a similar thing, like STFTK and Adam's Song. Even Bored to Death captures that vibe way better. The bridge of Happy Days also sounds boring. It just sounds like it was lazily planted there No More Guns is a bop though
  8. Although the clip sounds good, even for Tom it sounds very generic Sure he does play power chords on acoustic, but he's always alternated between power chords, octave chords and lead guitar riffs It's nowhere near as creative as What Went Wrong, I Miss You, All of This, Boxing Day, There Is and Letters to God Hopefully it's just because of it being a 15 second clip and that the whole song has more going on like previous acoustic songs he's written
  9. Haha I do find it funny how they describe their songs sometimes Although I do get the Beach Boys influences (more so in the way they produced the layered vocals and harmonies rather than the actual sound). The ending of Feeling This gave me that kinda vibe
  10. I managed to get one of them strats I got the yellow ? I really hope the Starcasters get an official release one day though
  11. Offspring still have the odd good song on each album. Just their albums are boring and repetitive asf. Hammerhead is a bop and actually my favourite Offspring song
  12. I definitely see what Atom meant about blink whilst also agreeing with people's perceptions of Offspring on this board In the punk scene, Offspring weren't considered a boyband with guitars like blink were. Offspring have always had a good reputation in that scene Which I find silly because of them having songs like Hit That and Pretty Fly. I think it's just a case of a lot of people from that scene being uneducated about what blink were. They heard All the Small Things and WMAA and saw the music videos then probably refused to listen to the rest of blink's song catalogue Even Robert Smith said something about blink's work pre-2003. He got asked to feature on a blink song and had no idea how his voice would fit on a pop punk song then he heard demos of the smiley face album and realised he wasn't gonna be singing on a pop punk song It's a shame blink really gets no love from a lot of musicians in the punk scene. They're missing out on Dude Ranch and Enema. Quality albums
  13. not sure if this has been posted but laughed my ass off at this video
  14. Lyrics of all the teenage stuff are way more forced on TOYPAJ. The lyrics seem to be more genuine on Enema and they just flow better too. Musically the album isn't that different to Enema. Maybe a slight more angsty and darker sounding but only just. Nine is probably closer to being an alternative rock album than California. It's a darker album too and more raw sounding. It's not too different to California with the music but there's definitely a difference I think
  15. tbh I rate that album more than TOYPAJ but I do consider Cheshire Cat to be before blink at their prime There's only 3 albums I consider to be blink at their peak and they're Dude Ranch, Enema & the smiley face album TOYPAJ just happens to be released in their peak popularity/prime era even if the album isn't them at their best. Cheshire Cat is definitely in their top 5 though. I just looked at the track list of the album and there really isn't a bad song on it haha. TV is the only one that feels like a filler song but I even like that song The first half of that album is definitely blink at their best I think
  16. Nine is closer to what I was expecting to hear from blink with Skiba the first time. It's got more great songs for me. Only one bad song in my opinion (California has quite a lot of bad songs i think). All the other songs have great parts but also have some stuff that are kinda annoying whether they're gang vocals (BIOMY), the odd bad lyrics here & there or annoying autotuned harmonies that don't sound human at all (Ransom and Run Away). All of this wasn't nearly as frequent as they were on California though I can't even think of California as a blink record whereas with Nine I can. Feldman obviously had way too much input with California whereas with Nine he seemed to back off more. Obviously for some songs they worked on had co-writers involved which weirdly enough didn't turn out bad like I was expecting, so I can't use the co-writer thing as an excuse to put down California. Still California clearly shows Feldman had way too much input compared to Nine +44's album is more of a blink-182 record than California to me. California just happens to be a blink record by name only. Albums like Cheshire Cat and Neighborhoods aren't perfect but they don't feel like a stain on blink's legacy. Nine is up there with Neighborhoods and Cheshire Cat for me whereas California just isn't blink. I liked half of California when it came out but over time it got worse and worse to the point I only love 4 songs from it. I can still listen to most of Nine 4 years later
  17. Never expected to see Travis and Ric Flair together in my life time so i fucking love that photo WOOOOOOOOO!
  18. I've literally rebranded my blink-182 California/Nine era playlists as "Cereal Killers" since that was supposed to be a Mark/Skiba pop punk side project for kids. Wouldn't surprise me if that project ended up being California
  19. Not a fan of most modern pop punk bands but Trophy Eyes have always captured my attention (wouldn't really call them pop punk anymore though). Their new album is an album of the year candidate for me. Not sure what this board feels about Trophy Eyes but here's some songs off their new album
  20. Love GOTDF so I hope that stays in the set I think Up All Night is a great song but yeah it's a weird one for a live setting. Judging from recent videos though, even that song sounds good I'd love to hear more Neighborhoods live. Surprised Wishing Well isn't there
  21. I dunno the thought of Davey next logging onto blink-182online then coming across this thread which is then followed by a wtf? face sounds so hilarious to me the last few pages just prove why this forum is way better than Mark's discord
  22. below is definitely you as you typed this post
  23. yeah this kinda bothered me with California too Obviously Neighborhoods sounds way more raw and less polished than the previous 3 blink albums but if you listen to +44's album and the first AVA album, then everything continues from where the smiley face album left off AVA then started to sound less polished with each album and Neighborhoods continues from that. If there was no AVA/+44 then the production of Neighborhoods would've sounded so out of place, which is weird because the songs themselves sound like they continue from the smiley face album. I also feel like blink were starting to go closer to a more upbeat pop punk sound but with AVA elements. It was like the band was progressing whilst reverting back to pop punk at the same time. Songs like WIWY and Disaster start off with AVA styled intros but my god the other parts of those couldn't be anymore pop punk if they tried. I also feel like PLG is a full on pop punk song despite all the synths and delay effects on the verse guitars. It's literally "what if AVA was a pop punk band?" Just made sense and sounded so natural Then Tom left the band so I was expecting blink to be closer to the kinda sound you hear on songs like Dogs Eating Dogs, HAG but with Alkaline Trio vibes. Instead, it was like they totally ignored all of their progression from the previous 15 years and started sounding like "what if ATL or Panic at the Disco wrote Enema/Take Off" or something. Not to mention the production started sounding glossy again. California just felt so so out of place to me. If they had released Nine instead of California, I do think it flows better as the next release after Neighborhoods/DED. There's just something about Nine that feels like a blink record to me even though there's no Tom. I'm probably biased as I dislike California more and more with each passing year whereas I'm actually a fan of Nine
  24. definitely love seeing blink-182online scraps between Ghent and Oliver for sure
  25. I'm in Mark's discord as well, don't get me wrong it's cool to see updates and whatever Mark has to say but I'd rather talk about blink on here. People on here are more open minded and have more contrasting views, so it's more interesting. The discord chat just feels more like a fanboy/fangirl club or whatever. I've always found it weird getting hyped up by celebrities and stuff too. Like I just never have felt starstruck or anything
