  1. Yeah it’s fucked up what’s being said to Abby’s voice actor and Druckman. Fucked up.
  2. Just because all he sang was the melody doesn’t mean he didn’t work on the song. Also you got a source for him not writing the guitar parts on nine?
  3. Having producers credited as songwriters doesn’t automatically negate the involvement of the band members. Swipe to and watch the third video I just linked and he basically says it’s just a way for producers to make money these days by having writing credits. They’re helping them craft the songs and writing bits sure but I don’t believe for a second any of the band members just sit it out and let the producers do all the work. I disagree about them not being able to relate to what they’re writing/singing about on Nine. Cali was just throwback teen shit but on Nine I feel most of the songs were stuff they definitely could relate with.
  4. Just asking a question relevant to the discussion. Sorry if it doesn't fit in with the little circle-jerk of negativity a few of you got going on.
  5. lol we need proof now every time a new song comes out? Ridiculous. There is no proof Mark or Travis even worked on the song. There is no clips of recording, photos of writing etc. Is there any proof (not counting Untitled) that Mark and Tom used to work together on blink songs? There is only a few examples i can think of where there is definitive proof they did work together but we always just knew they did so why do we now need proof that Mark and Matt do?
  6. Gotta love the ol “I was just pretending to be dumb” shtick to try and save face. Classic.
  7. Morons so eager to hate on the band they can’t understand a simple joke and then Ry comes in with them actual facts. Classic.
  8. Haha of course he’s joking. Matt’s a funny Cunt when he wants to be.
  9. Oh yeah. I actually love that song. It totally sounds like it could’ve been on that album. Weird though since he apparently doesn’t contribute anything.
  10. Or he’s just more comfortable writing the ninth record with the band he started and has been apart of for over 20 years than he is writing for blink. Writing for alk3 obviously comes super natural to Skiba but replacing someone like Tom Delonge and writing songs for a band as huge as blink is something new that he has to get used to. Expecting him to be able smash everything out the exact same is ridiculous. He’s spent 20 years writing and playing off Dan in alk3 but only 5 years working with mark. If you had spent 20 months working a job with the same people and then were thrust into a new job with a completely new crew do you think after 5 months you’d be able to do things as easily and as well as you could with the 20 month group? I doubt it. What is clear is that Skiba has been finding his feet with blink more and more with each album and if we do get more skiba-blink albums we can expect to hear more and more of him in the future. And Davey I know you don’t like Nine at all and that won’t change but as someone who likes both albums they’re pretty on par with each other. There’s songs on Nine that are better than any that are on ITTC but the lows on Nine are lower than that of the other. So they even out pretty good.
  11. Matt brought blink back to life. Regardless of anyone’s opinions on the music, call it zombie blink or whatever you want but without Matt blink was dead. Tom was prepared to break record contracts because he couldn’t find the time to commit to blink. He wasn’t going to record or write new music. The band was done until Matt stepped in.
  12. I say it’s Matt and not the other song writers for a few reasons. I personally do hear a lot of matts influence on Nine. I’ve also followed Matt for a long time and didn’t just jump on when he joined blink. As @Nosferatu said if I had heard dark side, black rain, hungover you etc on a Sekrets album I wouldn’t bat an eyelid. They’re not too dissimilar to how Matt wrote for that band. I also take into account what the band has said themselves. There’s more than a few interviews floating around when they talk about writing the record. Matt wrote black rain, he talked about writing dark side as an ode to Joy Division, he spoke about how writing NHTSO was very tough for him and he couldn’t even comment on the lyrics because they meant to much to him. To ignore all that and decide it was just the songwriters while Matt sat on the couch is pure fan fiction. I’m not saying Matt is the key songwriter or whatever but pretending like he wasn’t there at all is very obviously wrong.
  13. The last blink stuff to be released was the happy days music video which he was very much involved with so I assume you mean the collabs? He was involved in that chainsmokers one if you watch that bts video they posted. Didn’t do the live show though. And honestly I can’t even remember the others but weren’t they basically just a verse from mark and maybe a beat from Travis? ‘That cup of coffee’ feature seems to be just mark yet it’s labelled ft. blink-182. It’s obviously just a marketing thing and not anything to do with involvement within the band. I’m not expecting to hear an alkaline trio song in the middle of a blink album. He’s writing for blink not for alk3 so his influence is going to sound a bit different but it’s definitely there.0
  14. Matt was pretty present on Nine. Just because you don’t like what he contributed doesn’t mean it does not exist. I think Cheerios is spot on. You hear a lot more Matt on Nine then you do California. Give it another couple of albums and we could be seeing majority Matt!
  15. I’m assuming first run will be limited then they’ll flog our a standard black or something. It’d be moronic not too.
  16. Fuck. I missed all the variants. Fucking time zones.
  17. Matt is a sick cunt. Gets heaps of shit for not being Tom Delonge but shows up and does his best regardless. His moments on the new records are the best parts of those records so yeah he’s a good fit.
  18. Even if they are the worst in blink's catalogue (they aren't) they're better albums then those two fall out boy albums. I like fall out boy but they're not even close.
