  1. i really hope you were being sarcastic, cause that shit was fucking clown shoes.
  2. then you must not know shit about selling gear to a RETAILER. obviously you're not gonna get as much as you paid for it, cause we're gonna turn it around and sell it. there's nothing more pathetic then people bringing in their their low end ibanez's that they paid $400 for and they expect $300, it's just realistic. it's not bullshit since you were expecting an unrealistic number. also i'm surprised they quoted you anything, i look at the person first and if they look young i ask to see a driver's license, cause you have to be 18 and i'm not gonna waste my time quoting you a price on something that i can't even buy from you.
  3. that cover of "american girl" wasn't very good. sounded super empty for having 2 guitar players. also, i saw tom petty last year and nothing can top when they play it, sorry.
  4. phosphor bronze keep their tone longer, but i personally think 80/20's sound better.
  5. i'd go with the .13's just to be safe. also, go for the 80/20's.
  6. definitely the best strings.
  7. nope, just regular twins.
  8. definitely not, cause those are twins, not deluxes.
  9. wow, just wow. they're twin reverbs. why, with all the money he has, would you think he'd be using solid state amps?
  10. a need for good tone.
  11. sucks you had a shitty experience at 1 guitar center out of over 200, doesn't mean we're all like that. you need to realize though, you had a $1700 PEAVEY, not a GIBSON or a FENDER, which definitely could fetch more money. i've had customers bring in similarly priced deans and i can't offer them squat, cause again it was a DEAN. also one thing to note, we are not allowed under any circumstances to pay more for a used item than we buy a new one for from the manufacturer. so that's also one thing to take into consideration. all in all, as i tell the customers that come in with used equipment: don't sell your used items to guitar center. if you absolutely have to get rid of it today, yes i will buy it. but if you can spend some time shopping it around, you will definitely get more money on ebay, craigslist or anything like that.
  12. first off, what cab is it, what's the condition and how much do you want for it? second, we don't do consignment. never have, never will. and for the people who said "they offer a shitty amount," i'm sorry you wanted $90 for your squier bullet and we said no. you need to realize selling it to a store you're not gonna get what you want for it. cause what you're gonna be selling it for yourself, say $500(i'm just pulling a number out of the air), is what we're gonna sell it for and we obviously can't give you that much. hope that helped and if you have any other questions feel free to pm me.
  13. the fg730s that you posted is a good one. also the fg700s. you should also check out the takamine gs330s. and if you can spring a bit more the seagull s6.
  14. cause for the most part, the last album sucked. and "feeling this" was right at the top of the suckiness.
  15. if you look at a video like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ddn4MGaS3N4 you can see he's using a combination of a pickup and a mic about 3-5 back from the guitar. i've gotta say, it seems like what's going to be the key is to have a very loud guitar and a very sensitive mic. so you definitely need a guitar with a solid top that projects really well and then just something like a condenser mic with a large polar pattern to pick up the volume of the guitar.
  16. that's stupid as hell.
  17. they don't nail pop punk tone. but they have a 2nd channel that would be very usable for that type of music. also, gc doesn't carry them anymore, at least mine doesn't.
  18. check out the classic vibe series. they're pretty much all really rad.
  19. it would really help to know what kind of music you play.
  20. tell him to build me an amazing 64 showman w/ 1x15 clone for cheap.
  21. maple is brighter than rosewood. as far as sustain goes, i've never heard that for fretboard wood. maybe for back and sides on acoustics, but i don't think it makes much sense to say it about fretboards. all is all, personal preference. i've always liked maple more for strats. but on other guitars, like my jazzmaster, i don't think it would sound good without it.
  22. it's not a steal, but if you think it's a fair price and are willing to pay that much for it, then go for it.
  23. yeah, but people who collect fender amps usually collect tube amps. unless there's some lame-o out there with a fetish for ss amps.
  24. yes they do.
  25. shit, if you live in the states, i can probably get that guitar to you sometime in the next week and a half. let me know.
