Hurt (Interlude) Track Discussion
M!ke replied to Bucko's topic in One More Time Track-by-Track Discussion Forum
I'm sure I'm not the only one that was surprised that this was a genuine song. After The Fallen Interlude and Heart's All Gone Interlude, I was expecting an instrumental, with maybe a single repeated phrase like in The Fallen Interlude. Anyway, its a great little song, feels very Angels and Airwaves in a good way. Which will probably beg my brain to kinda group it with It Hurts as Monkey Chips was kinda saying haha. -
Love it, reminds me of +44 in a great way!

I read on a Reddit 12 Central, which would make it 1 Eastern. Of course, it's Reddit, so I have no idea how accurate that actually is.
-
It would work best if California Deluxe is somehow M. Then Nine starts with N and One More Time starts with O.
-
I mean there are 2 Ls on the cover of California, the L in blink and the L in California. Yeah super lazy, but so is using the K in Blink on DED. I always preferred to look at the H on Untitled as the right X eye intersecting with the right side of the face (really looks like a capitol H if you tilt you head just slightly.

It is interesting how they're saying the BCR song most sounds like a California song.

Someone read this review https://riffmagazine.com/album-reviews/blink-182-one-more-time/

Well both Darkside and Happy Days made for better singles. And really just about anything else they didn't use as a single would have been a better choice. Frankly, for what they were going for, they should have used I Really Wish I Hated You as the lead single.
-
I mean I love Nine overall, but have no excuses to give for BIOMY, why they chose the worst song on the album as the lead single will always baffle me.
-
Yes, this is so much better than that Reddit upload. Plus seeing all the lyrics does give me a better appreciation for the song.

I gotta say, I'm pleased to hear that this album isn't just trying to capture the sound of a single era of blink, as Edging originally had me worried about. In that respect, that's pretty much what Neighborhoods was doing as well: spanning the sounds blink had encompassed over the years on a single album. But I do fear that this album will have some of the shortcomings that Neighborhoods had all the same because of that: a lack of cohesion that ultimately leaves us (the listeners) frustrated by being an album that's trying to appeal to so many different kinds of blink fans at the same time without zoning in on an individual appealing sound. It's their own fault for exploring so many different sounds that they seem to excel at over the years. I think what I'm recognizing is that they are going to need to start actively alienating specific fans with album releases in the future, if they want to be the best band they can be. Else, if they want to keep trying to appeal to every person that has latched onto one specific blink song or another over the years, they'll just keep losing a singular identity and be this amorphous entity that's a delight in a vacuum, but fails to keep the masses coming back for more, release after release. It's a bizarre and fascinating situation that I can't say there is a simple answer to. I can see why they would want to continue to appeal to everyone, but if the continue to, they'll lose sight of what makes each individual album special in their own right. I love Neighborhoods, but gun to my head, Untitled is the better album every day, because in no small part, that album has a clear identity from start to finish. Neighborhoods just feels like a collection of great songs that lacks connective tissue. And I'm really thinking that this album is leaning much more towards that kind of structure over Untitled. Having said that, I do think this album will be more cohesive than Neighborhoods overall, and even if it isn't on the level of Untitled, I do sense that this will hit some of those Untitled highs that Neighborhoods could never quite reach.

This one is very simple, but fun. I definitely enjoy it more than Edging. It almost feels like a California song but with Tom, and I have no problem with that.
-
Yeah I'd love a DM if it's out there

Damn 2 more songs before the album releases next Friday. I mean I'm all for more, but I feel like 6 songs on a 17 song album (14 when we omit the 2 quick joke songs, and the Interlude) is a bit much. But I know that's just how the entire industry functions with these larger bands these days.

You watch it already? What are your thoughts?

Dude that's a bummer. Sorry I can't relate on this matter. But your post makes me grateful for the internet I do have, even if there is so so so much more about America that truly sucks ass compared to other parts of the world lol.

Well to each their own I suppose, I've been using those sites for years now (with ublock origin extension for adblocking of course) with no buffering or stuttering, and no complaints. 1080p streaming, I do a direct connection with my laptop to my TV with an HDMI cable, so I'm not casting, that could make all the difference, I dunno. But otherwise, I love it, moved on from torrenting film years ago and haven't looked back. No regrets at all.
-
Sure, but my point is, why torrent when you can immediately stream on sites like that? Just wasting needless time to torrent film in this day and age. It's been years at this point since I last torrented any film that I (allegedly) pirated.
-
While I don't know if it will pop up there, I would recommend sites like fmoviesz.to where you can directly freely stream just about any movie or TV show without having to torrent. This film isn't there, yet anyway, but I could see it popping up there in the next few weeks.

DANCE WITH ME discussion - Olés meltdown subsided

Yeah, read a few comments up and you'll see I recognized my mistake in this regard. -
This looks soooo much better than Love though. Also, I always loved that Dreamwalker animated short. Could have watched a whole movie of that one. Love absolutely sucked though, not gonna argue with that.

Just checked, you have to rent or buy. Renting is (at a discount) $5.49. Owning is (also at a discount) $13.49.

Oh snap that's on me. I didn't recognize that Bad News as a new song title. Definitely haven't memorized all the new song titles yet. Very curious now to hear that song specifically. -

K, but what does that even mean? Do we have definitive confirmation that they wont address his cancer on the album (again beyond One More Time), or are you just being speculative? Like I said, I can understand why he may not want to say much more about his cancer, but I've not seen anything definitive one way or the other in regard to that subject appearing more on the album. -

Yeah, I could see that. But it'd be a shame to not take advantage of the kind of material that makes him be the best with his song-writing skills. Heck, he only touched on it in One More Time, but the line about his sickness and airplanes falling from the sky has hit me the hardest of all the new blink lyrics so far. And I just know that he could do more if he wanted to. Though, I agree, I wouldn't blame him if he didn't have any interest in addressing it beyond that. With a song title like Childhood, I wouldn't be shocked to see him address this stuff at least one more time on the album.
