  2. Darn, from doing more research I was pretty set on Logic as I'm familiar with the layout...but the drum writing is a really important part to me so I'm torn on Ableton vs Logic. Unfortunately, I just got a new PC not too long ago I was hoping to use...my macbook from 2011 is near fried. Didn't realize Logic was solely Mac now. Fml.

    Blink-182 Vinyl Thread

owning music on vinyl is not about owning the music in better quality. vinyl is just a collector thing, it's the most durable physical format on the consumer side. your cassettes, cds, hard drives, streaming providers (and all those player devices or digital formats) probably become unusable/obsolete earlier than vinyl (also record players are very simple, futureproof devices), so if you are a music collector, vinyl is your definitive choice, because you definitely want a format that lasts longer than others. there's no other rational reason to put digitally made recordings on analog media, it will not be better quality than the flac files you can have on your computer (or through a streaming service). anyway, i'm not into collecting music, this music collection-building hype looks a bit dumb to me. like every other person want to own a private museum. i mean, in the end the most beloved collections will be trash, just like everything else you own. it's better to use your belongings than just owning them. and this is the problem with vinyl: collectors own them because of the futureproof aspect, but most of them listen to music from itunes/spotify (or any other instant media service) because these are far more usable at the moment. and as long as we won't end up in a post-apocalyptic world, these services will always be there to be better alternatives for everyday usage. so millions of vinyl collections will never be used at all.

What's The Last Movie You Watched?

It always bums me out when people shit on Aliens. It's my favorite action movie of the 80s and I think Cameron made a respectable stab at making this a blockbuster war movie.

What TV show are you watching?

I feel like it's kind of meant to be like a US/UK school hybrid, could be wrong though.

The blink 182 general discussion topic

That's where Tom learned it. Now it all makes sense (this was done before Tom started being flakey for the Neighborhood's sessions). Yeah man, me too. That first +44 show at that small theater in Detroit was the best I ever saw Hoppus onstage. Let's forget the show I saw where they opened for FOB, played only a handful of songs due to a power outage and then covered WMAA (which, admittedly, got the biggest pop of the night).

Hindsight. No one knew the league was going to allow Harden take 5 steps and 30 free throws a game off flops and get away with it. I never thought he was that media friendly enough for the league to favor him so much. Thunder are fine, Westbrook is ridiculous and overrated but he sells tickets and is easy to root for if on your team. Monta Ellis was also amazing in a way... He had no bball iq but was as talented as anybody and sometimes it'd work sometimes was a disaster. Monta was good in Dallas actually, forgot what happened there but he played well in that system.

    The NHL thread

Hah you're right they did; that was poor grammar. I meant the criticism to be in tandem rather than separate. Reducing the goaltenders gear has been enough clearly, though in my opinion too much.

    Blink-182 Signature Study

This is actually a major positive for me, Mark often signs thicker with a heavier hand. Here are some more examples of this, this is yet another trait that I would never expect a forger to pick up on, and nail accurately:

New Jam, Please Give Me Some Feedback!

Anyone give it a listen? I know the first half of the song might not be everyone here's taste with the ska vibe, but the second half is basically straight pop-punk. I'm pretty proud of the way it turned out, I'd just really like to get some other opinions. Thanks guys!

    Alkaline Trio

It’s backtracked. You can faintly hear the palm-muting during the verses. The more obvious ones are the weird feedback going on before the bridge while Matt holds out powerchords and the latter half of the bridge where there’s a lead part and Matt’s also playing powerchords. It’s not entirely a bad thing, but backing tracks are not unfamiliar to Alkaline Trio. They’ve used them before for synths and such, however, I never remembered them using them for guitar. Who knows? Maybe Matt got the idea from blink.
