  1. fuck me i'm so happy for them. this was probably one of the biggest shows they ever played. back together, back with new songs, huge crowd singing along to classics and new songs. they probably feel untouchable right now
  2. i hope they release the full show. this sounds great
  3. Not from kansas. Some of my friends were into the offspring while we were teens. I never got the appeal. They sounded to me like they would like to ride the mainstream wave, but still wanted to stay „tRUe PuNkErZ“ and somehow ended up being disappointing at both
  4. seeing mark and tom together offstage still feels so fresh and warms my heart. so glad they got over the bullshit
  5. Dude, they‘re on tour with this set-up for almost a year now. There is nothing new to discuss on that subject. Most people don‘t care about it. You just have to deal with that. Feel free to be enraged about it though
  6. Wow mark sounds really great ! those lollapalooza gigs are always mixed really nice. This is going to be a treat!
  7. these are usually so stupid, but this one sounds quite accurate, and waggy is still one of the greatest
  8. turn this off is great. reminds me of lagwagon
  9. i think aaron is a great producer. Production-wise, lifeforms absolutely destroys OMT. let Aaron run the sessions, and give it to mix to someone like Rich Costey .
  10. i think you overestimate how good the band would sound on their own at this point. if they would sound great without all the bells and whistles, they wouldn't use them. but they can't. accept it, or don't go see them live. or pull a classic faplord and flood every thread with the same negative remarks like a broken record
  11. i'm pretty sure that mark is supposed to sing those parts as well, but they're also on the backing track to thicken up the sound, but he didn't sing it tonight and decided to run around instead. maybe wanted to take a break. he probably also hoped people would sing the "no one gave a fuck that...:" part. mark and tom never learnt to sing properly, which is what made their vocal performance so distinctive, but probably was a huge strain on their vocal chords. afaik they took singing lessons for the first time just recently. they're in their 50's who cares? if it makes the show sound better, support the vocals in the backings.... does anybody actually go to see blink to see an impressive musical liveperformance? tom is back in the band, they wrote and released new music, they tour the world, they play 7 songs of the new record in their set.....i think we should be thankful
  12. absolutely. i love everything about it
  13. OMT is a great record and exceeded my expectations by quite a bit. that being said i havent felt the need to listen to it since november, but that doesnt say much. It‘s not even close to being in their top 3 records for me, but i appreciate them making music again, and hope they get to make another record, without the pressure of „the big comeback album“.
  14. Lol, this guy is actually keeping his cool and asking nice questions without pissing his pants half the time imagine outsimping an ava-movement guy
  15. What would Scott later even mean? „scott raynor, see you around“ would at least make sense
  16. It doesnt need much effort to make it sound like one vocal track. It‘s fairly easy, you should try it out. it obviously only works when you record to a click track, so the timing is the exact same on every take
  17. I‘m sure its different depending on the artist/producer… most of the time it is multiple takes comped together (e.g first word take 1, second and third word from take 3, etc) to one chorus which is then copy/pasted, unless theres differing choruses
  18. Those kind of things are why i hate the internet. Top class mix and mastering engineers couldn‘t do it. „Check out what i did on the sum with my plugins in logic“
  19. Don‘t make me switch my vote in botbm
  20. Neighborhoods is probably their last attemt at making a record without trying to please all their fans. that‘s my main gripe with OMT… it‘s a people pleaser, theres something in there for everyone and it comes across very forced at times. neighborhoods is a disjointed mess, but thats exactly what the band was at the time and i love it for showcasing that. The struggle is palpable while listening to that record OMT has a lot of great songs and is a great album overall, and i like it more right now. Could change in a couple months though. I hope they take more risks on their next effort. They absolutely have the chops to go beyond „references to their past work“
  21. Tbf isn‘t this album openly trying to relive their past? it does a better job at that than california did, but it clearly is a homage to their back-catalogue with a few songs thrown in that try something new ( childhood and blink wave).
  22. Thats pretty brutal, but also well written. I‘ll enjoy this record with my blink-tinted glasses on as long as i can
  23. Fucking hell, two years ago i posted on here that i‘d welcome blink calling it quits for good, but after this album i want those guy back in the studio as quick as possible. Absolute madness
  24. Bass, together with the drums give the rhythmic foundation of the music and the better they glue together, the tighter/groovier the band sounds. From stage left it is much easier for the drummer and bassist to make eye contact and play together. Its also closer to the hi-hat. that being said, i‘m not saying this hinders blink in any way, and its probably no big deal for this kind of music since mark runs around stage all the time anyway when he‘s not singing, but the general consensus is that the bassist stands stage left
