  1. The Tom DeLonge Meltdown Watch 2016 (Meltdown recommenced)

    Wait, was this real?
  2. The Tom DeLonge Meltdown Watch 2016 (Meltdown recommenced)

Best case scenario, Tom is a patsy and we are fed with disinformation by the deep state. Worst case scenario, Tom is bleeding money for this cause.
  3. WHAT IF: Enema was released today

"A girl that I can train"? Blink-182 confirmed sexist bigots. Record labels wouldn't even give Enema a chance today, because that crudity is only allowed in the mainstream hip-hop scene.
  4. A boring story about why I'm here

Looks like we're a rare breed. Every release is special in its own way.
  5. A boring story about why I'm here

    Kansas! No Oz references, please.
  6. A boring story about why I'm here

    1. It's hard to describe how he's influenced me. He has a certain flair. He listens to simple guitar riffs and fills them with an interesting feel or color. Travis has taught me to listen to a melody, consider all possibilities, and really practice out the most appropriate drum part. Sometimes you have to apply more, sometimes less will do. His drumming in Dumpweed was really influential to me. Clever use of halftime, weird inversion of rhythms, good fill transitions, sensible rhythmic attack on the guitar melody, etc.) It's been awhile since I've been in a band classroom, but that's the best way I remember how to describe it. I might post some of my bands songs at some point. Even growing up in my local music scene, the older drummers I looked up to had some type of Travis Barker influence in their playing. It was just all over the place. 2. My music taste began to shift when I started to listen to more indie or alternative bands. I strayed from blink and listened to Minus the Bear, Third Eye Blind, Street Smart Cyclist, Radiohead, polarOPPOSITEbear, So Many Dynamos, Snowing, TTNG, Algernon Cadwallader, Ten Grand, and a bunch of other random shit. They allowed me to grow as a musician, but I never really strayed from my Travis influence. It was great for me as a drummer. I think my love for indie and alternative is why I love Dogs Eating Dogs and Neighborhoods so much. It was just such a good direction.
  7. A boring story about why I'm here

I have a true love for all blink albums, but this is probably just a list of those I connect with the most.
  8. What TV show are you watching?

I started that a few days ago. I actually totally forgot about it, so I'm glad you mentioned it. I think I'm on episode 6 or 7. Awesome show, a very Breaking Bad feel to it. It's fun for me to watch because my family visits that lake every summer. I started Seinfeld a few days ago at my mom's suggestion. I'm on early season 2. She watched it a whole lot back in the day. Seinfeld and wine is like, the perfect breakup remedy. Plus this show doesn't annoy the hell out of me like the bits of Friends I've seen.

I was thinking about this the other day. There will be a ton to write about when this band is said and done. Blink is probably one of the last bands people expect to have such a troubled history. Booting Scott, Mark's jealousy, Tom's family problems, drug and alcohol use, nasty breakup, nasty statements, Jerry Finn's death, Travis' crash, Tom leaving, more nastiness. Just a whole slew of shit from band that's generally seen as poppy and fun.

Yeah, Tom talked a shit ton. Joe mostly grilled on details every so often. It didn't feel like an actual discussion.

This is like a gag in Spongebob.
  12. The TTS Academy Scam Thread

I can't listen to it again, either. I was excited to listen to this again on my drive home. Just a major let down that honestly made me a little bummed out, from all angles.

Joe has said himself (an early episode with Bill Burr, I'll try to find it) that he's much less abrasive and intense when he's smoking. The dude has been a daily smoker for a long time. He's doing sober October. Those are just facts and they probably correlate. For some reason, I expected a winding conversation about science and extra-terrestrial life. I didn't see a conversation. What I saw was Tom plugging his company and Joe grilling Tom on tiny details. Neither are entirely at fault, but this didn't feel like an organic podcast like Joe usually has. It wasn't at all organic that they just dove straight into ALIENS. Give this conversation room to breathe. Not to mention Joe has engaged in some pretty fucking sideways conversations with his guests in the past; I didn't see that kind of engagement here. Joe is usually pretty good at vibing with his guests. Compare this shit to his Alex Jones episode. It's like night and day. I'm not a Tombot and I have no idea if what he's doing is honest, but this podcast just made me sad. I mean, Joe talking shit while Tom had his headphones off, Joe making snarky expressions to Jamie, etc. That shit just made me feel bad for Tom. It's just jarring to me that Joe goes on with Alex Jones (who also claimed to have super secret contacts that he couldn't disclose) for hours and hours, yet he acts like a prick to Tom. All of this considered, Tom could do a better job at describing his experiences. He left too much to mystery and he'd better do a good job of following up with that or my sympathy is lost. Compare this bullshit to Tom's episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UZPCp8SPfOM

Exactly my thoughts. Tom wasn't helping himself much either, though.
