I asked about it and this was my mom’s response:
“Our energy bill hasn’t exceeded $120 since we got them. We pay a monthly loan payment plus an extra $75 to pay it down faster. You get a city rebate and an IRS rebate that equals about $9k of Im remembering right. We used the rebates to pay down our loan. I think we owe less than $10k on a $30k loan now. I think the thing that helped us most was new ac and roof plus the UV window screens we installed. And remember there are other charges like gas that are in our CPS bill.”
To me it doesn’t seem all that worth it but they seem to feel alright about it.

I’ll ask for you. I do know that my parent’s was damaged in a recent hail storm and it’s being covered by insurance with the rest of the roof and being replaced.
