What was going on during that era? I’m intrigued. -

Is live nation any better than ticket master? It’s like 350 for general pit tickets? -

Went to that show and got pit tickets for about 750. My friend I went w/ begged me to buy tickets the first day or presale I can’t even remember, was convinced I was insane for waiting. I “patience grasshoppered” his ass and got em cheaper by waiting, and he was furious lol. Turns off I evidently could’ve got em cheaper by waiting even longer lol. ill probably go to the Darien show, but this time I’ll probably only get lawn. I just saw them less than a yr ago, I don’t need to feel their sweat and enjoy the show at the same time. Plus Darien, imo, is a great venue to enjoy a show from the lawn. We’ll see. -
Fahrenheit-182: A Memoir By Mark Hoppus (April 8, 2025)

I can’t remember the site, but I promise I’m not delusional or pulling this out of my ass. He was pretty open about them *contemplating* it on some blog months before the reunion announcement, saying shit like “if blink were to get back together, it’d have to be under the circumstances of being able to say ‘hey man, I’m not feeling this, let’s try this’”. Oddly enough what he said was the mindset for the second reunion, and even odder what didn’t happen at all for the first/neighborhoods/when he first brought it up in late 2008. -

What’s also interesting is Jerry’s funeral was in late August 2008-possibly even early September. Mark started making blog posts about the band *possibly* reuniting in October, maybe November 2008? I specifically remember that. It was almost immediately following the plane crash incident. And I think they later confirmed it was October-November 2008 they made the decision to reunite. That being said, given how hurt Mark was by Tom’s snub, I’m surprised he forgave him so fast within a 3-4 month timespan, maybe even less. That’s even considering the trauma of Travis almost dying shortly beforehand. I also always theorized +44 commercially flopping and AVA not doing much better (they got dropped by geffen after I-empire, and went the independent route shortly after) was a big factor in them reuniting. An ego, keeping their musical identity and relevancy intact kinda thing, w/ blink being the only real vehicle for any of them to do so. With the separate project thing essentially failing, major labels running out of leniency to take their chances on them w/out blink, and them just not being ready to take the plunge (clearly seen in mark poking fun of Ava live on stage, shitting on “everything’s magic”, telling Tom to essentially fuck off with the beanie and to put on a cap and a strat, also live on stage) the first reunion had “failure” stamped all over it. I always sensed from day 1 something was just so off about the reunion, even at the shows post Grammy announcement. You could just sense it. I even made a post about it 3-4 yrs back or so. And mark, kinda dancing around it, all but confirms it here… -

True. Can’t rule anything out. But Tom being that butthurt he didn’t attend the guy’s funeral? Someone he openly loved and admired? I feel like the “betrayal” and “side picking” theory makes the most sense. If it was just scheduling conflicts or even not reaching a compromise between proper studios and Tom’s home studio, idt Tom would’ve held that big of a grudge to shrug off his funeral. -

Was there any explanation as to why Jerry refused to produce Ava but was fine with +44. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and guessin a nutshell it was bc Jerry essentially took Mark and Travis’ side in the break up and thought Tom was a douche for how he handled the end of blink, but did mark delve into why in his book? -

Can you give more info on the Robert Smith thing? That’s surprising given how much (Mark specifically) they loved the Cure. Also more on Jerry’s funeral and the second break up and second reconciliation? And the 2009 Grammys? Why did they even agree to do that? -
Let’s do something we’ve never done before - Rank the albums!
bobbo11290 replied to Rickay's topic in Blink 182
And even though ded wasn’t their worst (unfortunately), I’ll never understand the hype for it around these parts. All I heard was a step down from neighborhoods, and even at the time, a good 2 yrs before Tom left again mind you, it sounded to me like a band falling apart. Like Tom and mark were in a creative tug of war instead of complimenting each other, and even though they actually worked on it in unison, it sounded even less cohesive and even more disjointed than neighborhoods. -

Untitled enema neighborhoods toypaj one more time dude ranch ded ep cc california havent listened to a single thing from nine besides the 3-4 times I first tried pre pandemic, and I’m sure that’s for a reason. Even mark fuckin hates the album. And I WANTED to like it, bc at the time a Tom reunion seemed dead in the water, so if blink was intent on keeping the brand alive, hope for the best, but my god I was not prepared for that level of worst. -
And of course, princess swift’s dog shit album that even the swiftiest of the swifties thought was mid as fuck gets an album of the year nom, while blink can’t even get into the rock category. And this is coming from someone that thought folklore was Swift’s untitled.

I’m not one that usually gives a rat ass about award shows and such, but what in the actual fuck? OMT got just about the same positive critical reception Saviors got, plus commercially plummeted it. It had two hit rock radio singles, the latter which crossed over into top 40 radio and set records for longest time at number one on its respective rock chart stay. Green Day hasn’t even had a single crack the hot 100 since Oh Love barely landed on it in 2012, placing at #97. It had everything Saviors has to be nominated and beyond. It’s not even subjective opinion, it’s objective fact. And it wasn’t even worthy of being nominated? But California somehow was? Then what the hell ARE they looking for in terms of determining what albums are worthy of nominations? None of it even begins to make sense.

One More Time… Official Discussion (Constant Tug and Nut)

It actually keeps climbing the adult top 40 charts too, for whatever it may be worth to anybody lol. Went up from 15-13 this past week. -
Pretty much how I lost interest in them. I was never a diehard hardcore fan, but I liked a lot of what they gave us up until AI. I also tried to give the trilogy a fair shake, and liked some parts of it. But even some of the songs I did like, the production/guitar sound was so weak and lifeless imo. On the flip side of the coin, it has billie’s best solos since the 39/smooth and kerplunk eras. Guy has some decent chops for his genre when he wants to go there, I’ll give him that. I don’t think he’s ever been as creative as Tom in terms of doing really memorable catch riffs, but technical ability/actual lead playing wise, he can surprise you. Only brownsound from sum 41 has better lead playing chops in terms of the genre imo. TLDR; credit where credit’s due. And they’re definitely still a tight and fun live band. Creatively though, I think they’re out of juices and I can’t seem them bouncing back from it at this point in their lives/careers.

New album leak. It’s bland bleh. Basically revolution radio. Seems to be their schtick. They’ll do some attention whoring shit like the trilogy and father of all, then release a “safe” diet coke retread of what they’ve done better after falling flat on their face. I’m not kidding when I say almost every song is either a carbon copy of what they’ve done before or a straight up rip off of another artist. Certainly can’t see the lot of us liking it more than OMT even without the obvious presumed bias, and certainly can’t see the general public gravitating to it more either. Doubt it goes to number one. The thing is they’ve/Billie have been on so many podcasts, interviews, a Jimmy Fallon funded schtick subway concert in NYC tonight (airs Thursday for those interested), stern interview tomorrow, working overtime like mother fuckers to promote this thing. Blink did one Zane lowe interview for press and that was it. If GD still can’t hit number one all that considered, maybe they should just embrace their inner dad rock and just stick to being a nostalgic act. Just my two Pennies. Even if you consider 21cb as the last thing they did worth anything more than a fart in the wind, that still means they haven’t done anything noteworthy or relevant in 15 years now. What’s the point if you’re just gonna recycle the same ol tripe, try real hard to sell it, and not really have it deliver on anything? Not to mention they started work on this album almost 3 entire years ago, and it was hyped up to be their next whatever comeback, but imo, it’s basically revolution esque-safe, but not much else to evaluate in terms of new ground. But again, that’s just my pov, and tbf I gave up on this band over a decade ago. Then again, they haven’t done much to make me regret it since ??♂️

One More Time… Official Discussion (Constant Tug and Nut)
bobbo11290 replied to Kay's topic in Blink 182
Kinda shocked the albums completely off the billboard 200 after only 3 weeks. I know it dropped from 1–28, but now it’s completely gone. Not great for album sales. And shocked because the singles have done well (one more time even peaked at number 28 on the adult top 40, cracked the top 100, and is still number one on alternative radio), fan and critical reception has been overall pretty great too. Wtf? I didn’t expect it to stay in the top 10-20 long, but completely off already? -
Oh my god can they fuck off with this 7th grade vague anti gov crap or whatever? It’s so fucking annoying.

Please someone PM me!!! I’m working all night and have a lot of down time. -
Does anyone know if it just goes straight to YouTube?
-
If true, dumb af call.
-
They should’ve released this (with all three colors) as the default album cover across all three formats. Wtf? The others look like a Diet Coke version of the untitled record.
-
Who has a link to the leak? PLEASE PM me!

Somebody PLEASE PM me a link if true! Love and thank you in advance.

Even the needle drop dude likes this song (or at least was pleasantly surprised) and he has shit on everything blink has done the last 12 years. He didn’t even bother reviewing neighborhoods back when it first came out.
