  1. Although I do enjoy Angels And Airwaves, I'm guessing this could be the end of that band. "Disaster" breathes AVA in any possible way but with the cooperation from Hoppus and Barker. Also, AVA's latest EP sounds like a bunch of scraps being revived. With the tragic death of Critter, it would be a suitable moment to quit the band. It would be hard to stay inspired.
  2. In no particular order: - Every Time I Die - Ex Lives - Face Tomorrow - Move On_ - Coheed and Cambria - The Afterman: Ascension - John Coffey - Bright Companions - Matt Skiba & The Sekrets - Babylon - Converge - All We Love We Leave Behind - Bloc Party - Four - The Lost Boys Club - From Here On After - Maxïmo Park - The National Health - Walk The Moon -Walk The Moon I am quite sure I am forgetting a few..
  3. A friend of mine is in a band called The Charm The Fury. Perhaps you already heard of them. It could be classified as metalcore, but definitely has some southern hardcore influences, which I appreciate. Speaking of southern hardcore: John Coffey, another Dutch gem. Unfortunately So Called Celeste called it quits.
  4. No, I maintain a Dutch music website. One of my editors post metalcore on a regular basis. I try to limit it as much as possible. Through simple research like Facebook polls I investigate my demographics. I also look at the interests of people that comment. Unfortunately, a lot of the comments on TGA news are from the metalcore kids I mentioned earlier.
  5. I somewhat agree. It is a good song, but it's still the Mumford and Sons we already knew (I am basing this on the first few listens). I like band to progress more drastically.
  6. These songs feel empty to me. Even when I dislike the band, I am able to enjoy well crafted music. This is not the case.
  7. By exaggerating the elements, the writer has a distant, very distant, point here. I don't know how it is over there, but Dutch metalcore kids who listen to nothing but junk are obsessively interested in The Gaslight Anthem. I always wondered what their appeal would be towards these juveniles. The band could come off a bit forced, a kind of plastic image, if you know what I mean. I am completely convinced this isn't anywhere the intention of Brian Fallon and the rest, but put a cynical journalist on it who scrapes his food off the wall and there you have this article.
  8. http://four.blocparty.com/ It's a grower. At least, it is to me. Initially, I genuinely enjoy "Kettling" and "Coliseum". I am also starting to like "Octopus", which I despised at first.
  9. I was invited to a private acoustic meeting at Universal Music. On stage, Adam Young was putting up an act like most of the performing artists: "I love being here..." etc. He had to walk off stage through the crowd, which consisted of Universal employees: generally older people. I could tell he was genuinely afraid someone would approach him. Which never happened. When I interview artists, the interviewees are usually talking machines. He wasn't. If he could, the shy little boy would crawl away in the couch. Young gave some brief answers to my first questions, avoiding any eye contact. I need that. But like the third questions apparently intrigued him and he more or less jumped up, turned towards me and answered the question with great enthusiasm. After the answer, he returned to himself, so to say. On and on. Pretty awkward. Before I forget it: the press room was supposedly not suitable for filming...
  10. And I have my lead! Haha, good one.
  11. Good day! I am picking a lead for my interview with Owl City. Do any of you have any suggestions before I decide?
  12. Haha, I am glad I know she was holding your hand. Otherwise I'd be like 'Why isn't that weirdo letting her go?', haha.
  13. Did you catch of a girl (how rude as it may sound)? Such a weird thing to happen at a festival.
  14. Seriously, those from Vitamin String Quartet gave me chills. Their other versions, of for example Franz Ferdinand's 'Take Me Out', are great as well. Thank you, Casey!
  15. Hoppus: Travis, we got offered a tour in Australia, but we refused because of your fear of flying. Barker: Will I get paid nonetheless? Hoppus: Yes. Barker: You guys go. All this speculation... We can't know for sure what their reasons are, but it'll probably be something simple.
  16. This record is good. I like it. I can see it becoming one of my all time favourites.
  17. I'll never forget how I got to know them. Some segment on MTV2 showing videos from upcoming bands. Then 'Little Thought' popped up. A black singer wearing a pink Lacoste shirt. Alright. But damn, that song was catchy. At the time, a lot of talented bands came through and Bloc Party was one of the few that knew how to survive the wave. Their evolution throughout the albums is phenomenal, although 'Intimacy' has some minor flaws. Really excited for 'FOUR'. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4M5EqOGsMA#
  18. A very promising band from The Netherlands. Definitely recommended if you like The Ghost Of A Thousand. The band definitely stepped up their game since their last record 'Vanity'. A new record is expected to come out in September, which they recorded with the legendary Pelle Gunnerfeldt. They are good dudes and deserve credit for their hard work. The video below features some snippets from the new record. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVbvHXNsiHE#ws
  19. My example was perhaps a tad unlucky, but they're who are extremes from the inside towards their exterior. I don't think he is a woman, he feels like he is a woman. A significant difference. But this is my opinion. I am not right nor am I wrong. There isn't one universal truth in situations like these. But I honestly you are neglecting the impact of such a life changing event. For some people, a father figure ascends more than just an individual. A hero, a beacon of safety. When a person is trying to dispose all of these features of a man, a big change will happen. When you find the heart to support your father in a situation like this, I find that admirable. Honestly. But not everyone is as strong or tolerant. I am not judging his thoughts, but I sincerely hope he comtemplated his motives. Some kids find it disgusting when a father grows a beard, let alone boobs. I hope Gabel and his family will do well.
  20. I don't mind in any way, but to me it sounds like 'Crimson part two'.
  21. I feel a bit divided(just like Gabel, hihi). It is respectable that he is following this great desire of his. Clearly, he feels he has a certain. But almost everyone has urges. For a lot of people, they would be better off not pursuing these tendencies. Like pedophiles for instance. His change will affect a lot of lives. I believe I read he has children. If my father was trying (he will never become a full woman) to become a woman, my world would fall apart. What is one unhappy person when others can be careless? The burden of his family will become enormous.
  22. I already thought it was peculiar he wasn't doing any interviews. Now I know why.
