I first read that as AL and I wanted to know who he was. I was hoping Weird Al.

Weird AI is going to be song parody robot creating songs before Weird AL.

There it is! The ol’ non performer comment! Speedo knows all because he played a few garage concerts LMAO

It isn’t rocket science, Fap. If you pull your head out of your ass and stop trying to be Billy Badass of Kingdom SRH, you might be able to learn a thing or two about what’s actually happening in the world around you. Never seen someone so willing to choke on their own foot before … you know, MGK has a thing for feet too!

P.s. I wonder why Tom didn’t use to dance around and do all that extra lame shit he’s doing now when he used to actually play live? I don’t give a fuck about him moving and dancing, I’d rather him actually be playing. Also, never once claimed I can do what Tom’s doing. I’m not delusional like Oliver. But Tom is getting paid bookoo bucks, he should be playing the fucking guitar

Everyone can play guitar. Not everyone can dance like Tom.

You’re just another simp. You think you’re so smart and you get all condescending because you’ve played shows to 8 people and recorded some shitty demos. I’ve seen plenty of bands that actually play live and I know that Tom isn’t on several songs per night. I know it hurts, and you know it deep down inside but you just can’t admit it to yourself about your precious Tom. Sorry, but wanting to see actual real live music has nothing to do with “being a bad ass.” You’re the one who needs to get your head out of your ass. You haven’t even gone to any of their recent shows, so like you have any fucking clue what you’re talking about

You’re a fucking moron if you think Tom is playing anything that is coming out of the speakers here. This is just one tiny example, and it’s funny this clip I just picked up is from Feeling this, the same song I just called out an hour ago after watching the sofi show. This is beyond “they’re just backing tracks dude.” This is totally him not playing anything you’re fucking hearing . it’s obvious to anyone with eyes and a brain

https://www.reddit.com/r/Blink182/s/yzIPK23Y83

but go ahead and make excuses for him! There is absolutely zero need or reason for him to even have a backing track here in this spot of the song anyways. He’s not playing any of this but yet you guys will make up excuse after excuse. Even tho this isn’t a backing track situation. It’s literally just the track , and Tom’s guitar is making zero difference on the sound.

No, no he hasn’t. I’ve seen him plenty of times since 2001 and he never danced around while “playing guitar” nearly as much as he does now. He didn’t move around while “playing” nearly as much. Not even close. Hes doing it now because he’s not actually playing

He’s always been running around acting like a lunatic on stage, the fuck are you even on about?!

If you would bother paying attention you might learn something. The comments explain perfectly what’s going on.

“Feeling This has two guitar tracks going on One’s a rhythm track that goes E-B-C#-A (what Tom’s playing) The other is the main riff”

and

”Yes, the rhythm guitars are backtracked and straight from the album recording and Tom is playing the lead and octave parts. Sounds very full live and creates a huge sound.”

No ones saying the don’t use backing tracks … Tom usually picks up the lead guitar. You don’t hear this on older songs, before Untitled because there’s no need to do it. The songs were linear … they stopped being linear with Untitled. It’s why their song changed so much. Their songs are no longer just one guitar layered, their songs are made up of several different guitar parts making up the melody … they do this with bass as well … Feeling This is a good example … the studio version of Feeling This has two different basses going … this is something Mark does a lot. Make plays the bass live to Feeling This with the rhythm bass line instead of the lead bass that’s recorded. The lead guitar of Feeling This is what Tom plays but the backing tracks are what fatten up the song for the live perform … if you didn’t it would just sound tinny and weak because Tom is played octave runs and Marks bass is relatively jangly. An alternative to backing tracks is to pay touring musicians to play those parts like they used to do in prior decades but that’s expensive and modern technology has made it unnecessary. Keep the money, and use backing tracks … Travis is already playing to a click anyway, just punch them in. It’s a timed showed with all sort of pyro and blasts and lasers, it’s an event for entertainment at this point, not a basement show.

Those comments are morons on Reddit who don’t know what they’re talking about. The guitar keeps going and never changes despite what Tom is doing, when he’s hitting the guitar or not. That’s the problem. It’s more than just a backing track. You guys can simp for that shit all you want, there is no excuse other than him being lazy and more concerned with looking cool. I’d rather see someone actually play the fucking guitar, or else, why even have one? His guitar adds NOTHING. Stop making excuses

They aren’t playing Touchdown Boy anymore @Jan Loves Noodles they’re playing several layer songs like Feeling This and any new stuff.  Bless Tom for wanting to not underwhelm the 1,000s of fans at arenas knowing the backlash he’ll get from the basement show fans, solely.

Knowing everything is such a burden.

You’re just mumbling and making excuses instead of addressing the actual problem…that it’s not just a backing track, it is everything you’re hearing. That little clip shows no difference in sound despite what Tom is doing. It’s more than a backing track, you don’t know shit tbh

And yet, my point remains, that Tom’s guitar is contributing zilch on a lot of the songs , including that clip. Straight up miming the guitar. Shits weak as fuck and you know it

Anyone can single out one clip from one show and scrutinize it.  Many of us have been to the shows or watched the full shows on YouTube and witnessed Tom’s current state of excellence (for his standards)
