I’ve never really delved much into this type of music, including the full Sublime discography. For that reason, I’ll take back the word 'hate,' as I might be being unfair and I don’t like that word. I hate that word. They're more like classic Jamaican reggae/ska than the Two tone/3rd wave stuff. 1 Quote

I guess when I mean rock music I dont mean rock n roll or different genres of rock. I think there was a specific rock music that appeared after the psychedelic rock where bands went "back to the roots". Shit just sucks. This isn't just about "classic rock" either, but it's of course a big part of it. its ok if u dont like rock music or any music, just dont be contradictive like davey jones(or davey joe) and like one band but not another just cuz of how they look Quote
High Value Man Posted April 5 Posted April 5 FOB was my favorite band for a minute. The first time I saw them live (2004) was with a relatively small crowd of mostly dudes moshing at Warped Tour. A year later the crowd was huge & mostly girls my age & younger…no more moshing….and every time after was the same. When EVERYONE liked them, I got a little Thongy about them. Take This To Your Grave still makes me super happy though, idc. I also enjoy Sublime. Quote

I use this type of expression often…it’s typically something like, “that was very Heather of you,” when someone walks into a cupboard right in front of them, or does something really goofy. 🫠🤣 Everything reminds me of something else, my brain is always making connections. My mouth usually lets them all escape too. 🥰 I’m fun. Quote
Ghost Posted April 6 Posted April 6 I think you stumbled upon 'adult oriented rock'. And yeah, kind of sucks. I don't know if we're talking about the same thing, but lots of bands, once they (sort of) end their evolution -usually due to less commercial success-, then steer again to something that wants to remember what they did in their origins, or just trying to go 'back to the roots'. I agree. Foo Fighters went that route and I got bored of them. Quote
