Ok, having read two profane comparisons make bleed my eyes. Blink-182, neither Tom, ever played in the same 'league' that Beatles or Beach Boys. BCR or Untitled can't be compared with albums like The Beatles White Album, and minus with Pet Sounds... my god. Blink were great, BCR still amazes me, but... that comment was excessive.

Yes. Blink were great. A lot of the bad critics were written from the envy, I think. But they were an amazing band who wrote amazing punk.pop songs (at least a lot of bands were trying to achieve their sound).

I say that I think on the stuff you said I cannot find any connection. I mean... altough blink and green day shared crowds in one moment at the middle 90's, I am sure they are a little different context bands (in concept), and that's not bad... that menas they're just different for many reasons. Green Day was around more earlier than blin 182, they were really involved with the punk revival cause in the 80's. The played in a lot of 'okupa' places, you know, were tourin all over tehe world since the Kerplunk era. And I'm saying all over the world (thhey were here in Spain a few times before Dookie, and were 'promotin' Dookie here in my hometown, a place who nobody knows). Their point of view was very different. Said that, I don't think in any way AI was the catalyst for the blink break up because in fact is not. blink enjoyed a very good years of succes arond 1998 until... how can we say... 2002, even more?, maybe. Ok, on that years Green Day were just on the subway, on the shadows. And I will tell you more (and sure you know that) they were at the border of the break up too. Billio Joe went on 'tour' several times with Pinhead Gunpowder on the Warning era and earlier. So... should we say that the blink success was near to destruct Green Day?. No, my god, no. Bands have different 'eras', different periods, and it's the way they solve the problems or different circumstances what makes their future. I mean, a different way to solve the 'I wanna be home' thing from Tom should be that maybe now we could be speaking of a new blink album, sure. You know what I mean?. Blink had his 'losing momentum' and just came bad things and the breaking up. Nothing to do with AI or Green Day... as blink was not the 'cause' of the Green Day 'trip to the shadow'. Man, I respect your opinion and theory, but can't share it. That's all . I don't know if anyone gets my point of view.

Fuck, I'm tired of those stupid breakup theories. Just hang with it, blink broke because all the immaturity of his members and their not-knowing-how go ahead with their big moment as a band, anyone on his own, any member, man. I don't know who's the fault because althoug the all interviews we can not know what happened really. But I don't think American Idiot was the problem. There were a lot of better albus around Tom could feel pissed or frustrated with. Why should be neccessary AI? And, Godddddd, anyone can think AvA will supply this supposed frutration? In case AvA could coexisted with AI, I think AI have won the battle again, just cause AI (despite all the fuckin awful promo) is a fucking great album, maybe the best of Green Day since Dookie-Insomniac. Just a very well written album. And kids, I'm not a blink hater, I love blink and all their stuff, I LOVE Untitled album, ubt being objective, AI is way betrer, and in my honest opinion, Green Day is way better band in some ways, as songwriters and performers.
