John Fruciente or however you spell it. Took me one second. Nick or Tim from 311. You’re just going to use your bias to trump anything I say though so I’m not really going to bother any further

John Frusciante forsure. Red Hot are kind of a one off though.. I guess you could call them mainstream but think Blink appeals to more casual radio listeners tbh. Okay, congrats on 1 I guess.  311 is not relevant or mainstream.

311 is almost just as relevant as blink is. You’re just biased

I wouldn’t say he’s the best guitarist in mainstream music because it’s not true, but he absolutely is the guitarist who had the biggest cultural impact on people from 98/99 to 2004. It’s only 5 years but the iconic guitar sound, the crazy and catchy riffs, and a big fu**ing right arm to play palm mute at those bpm shaped an entire generation of human beings for years to come.

Yea, I’m just having fun with Jan. He’s not the best, obviously, but you could defintiely argue one of the most influential.

He might not be the most talented, but he's sure as hell the best.

According to nothing but your bias and personal opinion. You stans live in your own bubble

Imagine saying blink-182 isn't "real music"

Maybe you need to go relisten to Blame It On My Youth or I Really Wish I Hated You. Who am I kidding, those are probably some of your favorite songs.

I shit on those songs just as much as the next guy, but I'd never say that blink-182 as a whole isn't "real" music

I know you wouldn’t. Because you are a Stan who praises them like they’re the Beatles. I would never expect you or Jan to say anything critical or look at them objectively.

It's pretty easy to criticize blink.  I have a long list of them actually. However, they're like my favorite sports team: I'll criticize them but it comes from a place of love.  But I'd never claim that their music isn't "real."

Edit: here's where he said this

You are a little kid so I don’t expect you to understand by what I meant from that comment.

I love or have loved all of these bands so I feel confident in laying out this comparison between them:

John Frusciante (RHCP) - Most talented guitarist - RHCP still counts as mainstream

Tim Mahoney (311) - 2nd most talented guitarist - 311 no longer counts as mainstream or good

Tom Delonge - Most influential guitarist - Blink is currently the most mainstream of the three

Thank you for reading.
