NewEP out now: Songs to Listen to on Public Transport

Recommended Posts

The title of the EP will be called Songs to Listen to on Public Transport because most of the songs are written on the light rail or the bus or the boat, so it's probably the best place to listen to it and it's probably where people listen to music the most nowadays, so I'm just trying to nail the zeitgeist. I'm sure it'll be out in January or some shit.

Possible tracklist:

1 Bus Ride
2 Going Down (From Here)
3 All He Could Be
4 Tomme ark
5 (Gi De) Litt bank
6 Song That Should Have Been in the Lion King
7 Wheel of Repetition

Sorry for the controversial cover! Working on a new EP now inspired by public transport. Going Down will be on there! New info coming soon!

Lyrics to the songs posted in other threads:

Bus Ride:

Going Down

All He Could Be:

And here's the lyrics to Wheel of Repe(tit)ion (Lion Kind song will be posted later!):

Wheel of Repitition

Early morning the wheel starts turning
And it doesn't end when the midnight oil is burning
The teacher needs a place to learn in
And the pupils get to make the big decision
And nothing can stop this wheel
It might not be a very big deal
It's just the wheel of repitition

The wheel of repitition
The workaday world goes by
You are on a mission
But it's just one big lie

You can sign a petition
But it'll just be pretend
The wheel of repitition
Is something you can't end
(is never gonna end)

The fishers with fat fingers expect a finish
A thought that will make any other thought diminish
A powerful message, but a disturbing image
A dream that is reaching fruition
If you find someone you care about
And know all their whereabouts
You'll see the wheel of repitition

Far away some bells of joy are ringing
At a graveyard outside a fat lady is singing
No one knows to what we are clinging
We put money in the well, but forgot what we were wishing
The crisis is immediate
but you're still just intermediate
watching the wheel of repitition

Song That Should Have Been in the Lion King

Verse 1

I once heard about the circle of life
About birds and bees and how insects breed
And got to know about the plants and forests
That could start with one single seed

We live and die we get born and give birth
We start wars we sign treaties of peace
And once I learned this
I went out and started planting trees

PC

We all start up in diaper
We might end up in diaper too
And a mother's baby
Who used to be wiped, maybe
At some point have to wipe her too

Chorus

Because what goes around comes around
What goes up must come down
It's all in idioms and clichés
When someone starts to cry
And we don't see eye to eye
We sympathize and pity them and walk away

Verse 2

When we're young we seem invincible
And immortal but we soon find out we're not
And a tree can live for hundreds of years
But its apples are gonna have to rot

PC

We all start in cradle
We all end in tomb
And nothing life gave us
Is able to save us
From impending doom

The EP will be out next Friday. These are the re-worked lyrics to a song I wrote in 2010. The music was written in 2006.

Dumb Reminiscing

I reminisce on time that's passed
The years that ran by so fast
It's like my time went in a loop
or I went through a hoolahoop
So I think back on what I did
when I was just a kid
And I think back on happier times
But that happiness might only be in my mind

Chorus

It's a dumb reminisce
When I sit and think back
On times that I miss
When my life was a shack
It's a stupid memory
When times weren't that bad
Reliving what used to be
And it almost makes me sad

Nostalgic thoughts are here
From holidays from longone years
Times that will never return
That are no longer a concern
Some people just move on
Never reflect on times that are gone
But I go back every now and then
Though I know I'll never be there again

The idyllic stories told
makes me feel like I'm getting old
When I think about those days
A different time and a different place
But isn't it really the same?
Isn't it kind of a shame?
In my memory moments are missing
but I still enjoy dumb reminiscing

It's been a week since my last release and now it's time to let it all go. I've forgotten to dedicate songs to people like I did last time. Hope you'll enjoy your number!

1 @Speedo https://zansman.bandcamp.com/track/bus-ride

You get "Bus Ride". A song about the bus ride to hell basically. A jolly ass song.

2 @Elisa

https://zansman.bandcamp.com/track/going-down-from-here

You get the finished version of the first "single". I think it's a lot better now.

3 @Cheerios4u98

https://zansman.bandcamp.com/track/all-he-could-be

You get this song with my fastest "drums" ever.

4 @jlx9

https://zansman.bandcamp.com/track/tomme-ark

You get the Norwegian song!

5 @Ari

https://zansman.bandcamp.com/track/dumb-reminiscing

You get the oldest and maybe best song out of the bunch.

6 @Melty Mark

https://zansman.bandcamp.com/track/song-that-shouldve-been-in-the-lion-king

You get this song about the Circle of life!

7 @Kay

https://zansman.bandcamp.com/track/wheel-of-repetition

You get this jangly and weird song.

Hope y'all like your song!

man, blast from the past I haven't gotten to dive into your music in forever.  Such improvement over time, brother. The chorus in Dumb Reminiscing is super catchy, and I love the MUSIC. happily sticks in your head.
