Elisa Posted June 20, 2018 Posted June 20, 2018 So Bad Religion is finally coming out with a new album and it's gonna be very political. I'm not a fan of this song but I think that's because its style took me by surprise. I hope for some more "traditional" BR sounds from the other tracks on the album but a bit of variety certainly never killed a band that's been consistently rocking for almost 40 years. I dig the bridge though. Quote
daveyjones Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 it's like a lazy retread of "lose as directed." 1 Quote
Kay Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 I'm not entirely sure what the point of the song is. it seems to be being political for the sake of it, it's not really adding commentary or even just slagging it off it's just sort of mouthing off buzz phrases? Quote
Broken English Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 It’s fucking horrendous. I dearly hope that the album sounds nothing like this. 1 Quote
boxelder Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 yeah this is really, really bad. i saw it and thought it was a joke. not even sure what they're trying to say, and because the message is so muddy, it's already being adopted by some alt-right people. just disturbing and weird Quote
Elisa Posted June 23, 2018 Author Posted June 23, 2018 They wanna mock the alt-right but the song is really weird, I think it's probably the only Bad Religion song I don't like/get. I guess it would be interesting to hear what they have to say about it in their next interviews. The part that doesn't do for me is the "everybody needs somebody" bit that I know it's supposed to be a quote but it's sooo bad. Again, I still look forward to their album though. Quote
Elisa Posted December 17, 2018 Author Posted December 17, 2018 Announce of the announcement, Tom Delonge style https://dyingscene.com/news/bad-religion-announces-release-date-announcement-for-new-album/ Quote
Speedo Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 The Kids Are Alt-Right was an awful song My Sanity was alright enough. True North was stellar so I have high hopes for this new one. Quote
Elisa Posted December 17, 2018 Author Posted December 17, 2018 I loved True North and sounds like they're pretty happy with the way the new album turned out (The Kids Are Alt-Right won't be in it) so I have high hopes too. 1 Quote
Ghost Posted December 17, 2018 Posted December 17, 2018 Funny though, I've been relistening to The Empire Strikes First lately. Such a good record. New Bad Religion is always good news. Quote
