You’re the equivilant of a “Homer” for sports teams. A Homer is defined as a fan, game official, media commentator, reporter, etc. who is biased in favor of their home team. That’s you to a tee. Period, end of discussion. You're incorrect. Quote

Admitting that Saviors had a bigger impact on society than OMT is hardly calling it Abbey Road. The only reason you’re making that correlation is because you’re treating OMT like it’s Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. 1 Quote

It was massive to blink fans, nobody else gives a fuck. Sorry but it’s true. And I am quite fond of OMT and listen to it a hell of a lot more than Saviors, I only know a couple songs from Saviors. OMT isn’t more popular than Saviors though, so your argument of me hating it is wrong and your argument saying I hate it because it’s popular is also wrong. Homer Quote
Patient #48273 Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 OMT and Saviors have nearly identical scores on Metacritic, but OMT has sold significantly better so far. Obviously there's a lot more to cultural impact than critical reception and sales, but let's be real, it's unlikely that either of these albums had a "big impact on society". But the data we have show that it's laughable to say that only those of us in a blink echo chamber would claim that OMT had a bigger impact. 4 Quote

Neal Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 I don‘t think omt is grammy worthy. I‘ve yet to come across a non-blink fan speak fondly or even recognize the existence of that record. Same goes with the green day record though… the fontaines record deserves it imo @Harry Butker i don‘t really know what‘s going on, but as someone who only comes back here from time to time, let me tell you that every time i come back your account turns more into a poor man‘s oliver. Not sure if that‘s what you‘re going for, just thought i‘d let you know since it‘s very evident when only logging in every couple weeks. the world seems to turn more and more in to a hatefull and divided place. Do you really want to spend your time online as a contrarian, pissing people off? Can‘t remember the last time i read a geniune positive post from you. Food for thought 2 1 1 Quote

They came in hot and started things off but blink came in and did everything better, looked better, smelt better, better guitar. Green Day’s been jealous ever since and tried to be like them just like everyone else. We thank Green Day for starting things off for pop punk and getting some of the early awkward clunky stages out of the way and can respect them for that. That’s as far as it goes. 1 1 Quote

Food for thought I agree that this board can have hateful and divisive moments. I'm with you there. Diddy is an exception though. We all know he's a good dude and that's just the way he goes about at times. It's pretty harmless and I don't think anybody actually gets pissed off. Imagine watching football and some dude calls you a piece of shit when they don't like the call on the field. Everyone's all good. 1 Quote

It’s just funny how you rip on bands you don’t like constantly but you get butthurt when I make fun of a band you like. The point is, all the bands you always talk about wouldn’t even have a platform or be remotely relevant if it weren’t for Green Day. Show some fucking respect you clown Quote

You answered this yourself, you come back periodically so you’re missing 95% of my comments. I haven’t been arguing with anyone lately. Funny how you have no problems with other people like Scott shitting on bands they don’t like, but if I call out the fact all of his favorite bands wouldn’t have a platform or be relevant without Green Day, you get your panties in a bunch. Me understanding why Green Day would get a Grammy nod over blink is just me living in reality, not me hating on blink. My conversation with Jan was also light hearted, you don’t understand our dynamic so get off my fucking dick Quote

Once again, just YOUR opinion. The way you speak on your OPINIONS being facts discredits your opinions. Album sales say otherwise, bud. Why would Green Day be jealous of blink when they outperform them in every metric? You think they’re jealous because you’re on this site saying blink is better? Really dude? and again, i don’t judge music by sales. But to say Green Day is jealous of blink right now shows how out of touch you are. Green Day just went on a bigger tour than blink has ever done Quote

I assumed Green Day’s album would have more sales, like JarJar assumed. I don’t give a shit about album sales or Grammys. I’m just saying it’s not far fetched to imagine Green Day getting a nod over blink in any scenario so people shouldn’t get upset about it. I definitely don’t subscribe to the Grammy’s highlighting good music lol, never have. Quote
