dildo69er Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 you cant access anything unless you pay for it..thats not fkn revolutionary thats fkn bullshit...i cant even access shit ive already got lol Quote
Bish182 Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 you can get the blogs and news and tour dates and calender and stuff right? just not the videos and pix? I just paid over the money, tlkin bout 3quid a month for loads of vids...you are only committed to 3 months at a time, so if it gets shit, you can cancel your subscription... Quote
M!ke Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 sorry, but you have to pay for photos? thats fuckin awful on a plus note, it looks like there may be b-sides (it says unreleased tracks) that are actual different tracks to come, not just live/live acoustic, though i could be wrong either way, what a waste, to pay for a site like that really is awful, bands make enough money as it is, why make us pay to watch a music video/short films? Quote
supervic Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 i think the point of this is that since bands sell cds anymore, this is how the money is gonna be made.. Quote
dildo69er Posted November 2, 2007 Author Posted November 2, 2007 i do see the calender and it does show some plans for things to happen but still...it looks like the sorta vid updates we got for free when blink was around...i guess we gotta find someone who has paid and can upload them for the rest of us haha...i dont wanna sound cheap but i don't think he deserves my money untill he starts offering me songs Quote

I think you'll find it actually costs quite a lot of money to produce these short films and things...hense the monthly charge. And yea toms idea was that essentially people don't buy music anymore, but may consider paying a very cheap monthly subscription to see the musical content in different forms, i.e. short films, live performances etc Theres a lot of stuff already on this site to get your teeth into, and judging by the calendar there's more to come, im sure people will put it up for free, but end of the day, im happy to pay the subscription to support the band and if the updates stop, il stop paying end of. I think photos should be freely available... Quote
supervic Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 wow looking at the calender...thats pretty good seems worth it Quote
fElon Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 It's not working right for me. Keeps freezing. But that sucks that Tom is still down with screwing his fans out of money despite the fact that he has so much of it. Truly a shame. Quote
Guest tomdolizong Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 I'm getting a lot of errors, even when I just try to navigate through the site. It's really slow, too. Quote
delongeatticuspachino Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 site won't even open for me. Quote
Soapy Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Who actually feels like paying to hear Tom sing on there computer screen? Going to concerts to hear him is bad, but paying to hear him from home is worse... Quote

But that sucks that Tom is still down with screwing his fans out of money despite the fact that he has so much of it. Truly a shame. In case you havent realised, funding a feature length movie costs quite a lot of dollars...millions in fact...Tom's rich, but not that rich... He is setting the example for bands to come, in the future, bands won't make money because CDs wont sell because people download them for free. He is trying to think of another way bands can make money, i.e. providing content on a subscription basis through videos, podcasts, live performances, short films etc...only trouble is, people will be able to rip the content off the site and distribute it for free anyway...so unless they come up with some scheme to make the content impossible to download...then nothing will change... But that sucks that Tom is still down with screwing his fans out of money despite the fact that he has so much of it. Truly a shame. Weren't you just saying that Tom is having money troubles and has to sell his house? He's funding all of this stuff himself, so let him try to make some money back. Quote
quiksilver199 Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Call me lame, but I've already became a premium member and have been watching the videos and downloading the podcasts for the last while. Some of the vids on there are pretty awesome, it's cool to see Tom being funny again and being more like the "old" Tom. Theres a vid where Tom is showing you around Macbeth and Matt is on the phone and Tom says that Matt's talking to his grandpa and that he's getting earfucked by his grandpa haha. "Im just going to ask you to be here with me and enjoy yourself, uh with this video podcast, actually just enjoy yourself...if you're a girl enjoy yourself like, a lot and if you're a guy, dont ever fucking enjoy yourself while watching me" and flips the camera off. I'm starting to get excited about ava again with all this new stuff. Quote
wotdsm Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 I'm digging the site! I dropped the 6.95... Only complaint is it's totally dog slow Quote

But that sucks that Tom is still down with screwing his fans out of money despite the fact that he has so much of it. Truly a shame. so if his music is free. and all the multimedia is free...then what? is tom gonna start giving out free tours of his house? bottom line is, money's gotta come from somewhere. each and every one of these short films he's doing is costing big bucks. he's doing 2 movies, thats costing him big bucks. all the fan stuff he's trying to do, its costing money. this website he's doing, its costing money. no doubt alot of designer effort has gone into it yes, tom is rich, but what do u suggest? that he lives the rest of his life as a fuckin artistic charity and just start handing out free cds on the street corners? how does tom "screw" people of their money if he's making shit, and asking people to pay for it? i dont hear you complaining that tom is screwing his fans because hes charging money for his cds. dear God, that would be unthinkable look man, i understand why u bitch. celebrities = rich, life = unfair but i dont get what you want out of tom. its not like he's gonna start throwing out silver dollars from roof tops just cuz he has all this undeserved wealth according to you Quote
Bob Loblaw Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 I'm digging the site! I dropped the 6.95... Only complaint is it's totally dog slow I'm thinking about subscribing too. $85 a year is pretty steep, but I'm a big fan of the band and there are a ton of features on the site. I could watch some HD video's on my 50" tv if I can find my vga cable. Quote
slapsean Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 I'll wait till a whole bunch of shit is out, then pay the $7 and just download it all, then wait again. Or just wait till someone from here rips all the shit from the site, and get it for free. Quote
juice182 Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 85 bucks is too much, im thinking more like 50 at most. Quote
Rocky Braveheart Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 woah hang on. "In November 2006, Delong started Angels and Airwaves..." how the fuck did they record, release and tour an album before the even begun as a band?!?! Quote
