Ghent Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 So this topic has been coming up a lot lately. I'm curious what the blink fan consensus is. Do you feel like the perverted jokes just don't feel right anymore? Not funny at all anymore? Vote and discuss. Quote
☆★Adri★☆ Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 They should go on doing them if they find them funny and they enjoy making them. If they make dick jokes coz thats what people expect, then I say no. That's not an option in the poll, so Im voting yes I guess lol. Quote
fElon Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 If it's genuine, then I say do it. If it's forced than no. Like if Mark is standing onstage and is thinking "Now I have to make a dick joke to the crowd" than just forget it. But if he is standing up there and he naturally has something funny or obscene to say, than that's fine. You are never too old for most humor. You can usually tell the difference. As far as writing joke songs, I don't think they should do that anymore and haven't since TOYPAJ. Quote

But I think that Tom thinks that we expect it from him, so it comes of as a bit forced imo. Quote
detroit steve Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 to me everyting that tom tries to do is fake or forced, of course they will have their occasional dick joke thing but to me blink just isnt genuine to me anymore and i've lost interest. i dont know, maybe i've grown up. i mean i still love my dick jokes but it seems way too forced and that they try to do it. for example, back in the day they were just having fun interacting with the crowd or just being themselves now it seems like they have to say something perverted or immature so they can cater to what audience remembers them by. Quote
Cheerios4u98 Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 They should totally keep doing them. I'm sure if they didn't there would be threads here like "Fuck blink-182 they aren't the same anymore they're too serious now". But I completely agree that it needs to come naturally and not forced. I think it might seem like everything Tom says is forced, just because he says stupid stuff so frequently and blatantly, but I honestly think that's just natural for him. I don't know anymore since I haven't seen AVA since blink got back together, but when I saw AVA in 06 and in 08, you could tell that Tom wanted to goof off more than he did. You could tell he was trying to force himself to hold back. Tom is just super immature and all that stuff he says comes naturally to him. I think it's hilarious. Quote
bastard Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 what did mark mean when he said tom needed help for his jokes? tom made jokes and no one laughed or what happened?! enlighten me english people! Quote
mattattack Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Obviously not because they are still, and its still funny! Quote
blink syndrome Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Even though they're older it's still funny to me, even if it might seem forced sometimes. They're just out there having fun and putting on a show for the fans. Quote

m0z182 Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Blink didn't get as much coverage as they deserved on the bbc because of not complying to there Taste and decency policy. Sad but true fact. Quote

MattyP Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 So long as its not forced, let the dick jokes fly. Quote
Monkey Chips Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I thought I would share this vid from 2008 Although, I guess some of the jokes in blink could be forced or random drunkenness. Quote

Bubbles Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Personally, I don't really believe in "getting too old", So yeah they definitely should, I think it's awesome that none of them, despite being older, haven't lost their sense of humour. Quote
