DED isnt though

Up until the chorus it certainly is. At least IMO. My point being I wish Mark had more influence in that era. It seems they gave the token fast paced songs to him. Again, not a bad thing bc I love HAG and DED.

You have a point but they had enough good music altogether it wasn't much of a complaint.

I also felt like DED was another Mark style token song too, neighborhoods & DED that was sort of his main contribution.  That's why I love Fighting the Gravity so much!

I love FTG too! Such a different song from the normal Blink style

I'm probably the only one who likes LID lol. It's pretty cool, it's like a Pre-Dream Walker AVA that's groovy. The choruses are bland until Mark chimes in but the verses are absolutely cool though, one of those songs that's saved by Mark and Travis.

This is Home, on the other hand, is one of Tom's most forced songs he's ever written. It just sounds like he's trying to pull the "Hey we're still the same Blink you all know and love!" with the forced fuck in the verse. I already don't like typical AVA synths with the stereotypical blink riff that doesn't go anywhere, but the "I-I-I" stuttering shit in the chorus sounds like a bad AVA B-side. The song just sounds like a forced retro Blink-182 song that ends up sounding like a shitty AVA b-side.

Fighting the Gravity is one of my favorite post-reunion blink songs. I love it!

Me too haha! Thismakesnosensethismakesnosensethismakesnosense it makes no-no-no. That song has character, which is what Cali lacks.

I always loved TIH because of how far they went on the 80's vibe.  The chorus reminds me of like...Billy Idol or something.

Verse lyrics are a bit cringe, but I think it is the only good use of prominent keyboards/synth Tom ever contributed to the band.

I am always fond of Mark's experimental songs ever since +44 but Fighting The Gravity is one of the songs I can't get into. I don't hate it all, and it doesn't deserve all the hate it gets, but I just can't get into it.

The "Ava b-side" is better than Up All Night, After Midnight, MH 12345 and maybe another song or 2

I voted Up All Night. Horrible song and video that softened the blow for how mediocre this album would be. When a band promotes a song like that, you have a clear picture of what the album would be

This whole board is biased towards Mark and +44. Its no coincidence that every song voted for on each album was sung by Tom

Fighing the Gravity shouldnt even be included. Its a good song, but its more along the lines of The Fallen Interlude. Its just taking away votes. I want a recount!!

MH 4.18.2011 clearly. So dull.

Btw, Blink isnt playing one single song from Neighborhoods on their current tour in Europe....

Its about time Mark smartened up. In the US last year we had to listen to Up All Night being sung and played by Matt Skiba. It was the worst thing Ive ever heard

I don't get the hate for MH. it's not an amazing song but the only actually 'bad' thing about it is the helpicopter line. the guitar tone isn't great but lyrically it's cool, the melody in the verses are awesome and its just a nice song really.

and @Clarke here's why I hate This Is Home -

The verse melody is one note. Theres no movement or variance it's one note repeated with terrible lyrics. the synth is OTT cheesy and reminds me of the worst AVA sins, you've got that horrific scatty chorus with the " I I I " nonsense that just doesn't work and also doesn't actually make any sense. the guitar work is boring and above all else Tom vocally sounds horrific on it. It's cringe inducing and just sounds like a rushed throw it away piece of garbage.

I also don't hate LID. the only songs I dislike on this record are This Is Home, After Midnight, Even If She Falls and (maybe) Up All Night. The rest have some charm to them in some capacity.
