this song, while being from the 80s, always sounded like it was a homage to the 80s in terms of sound.

I've never listened to DC Talk and I never will. I'm not proud, I'm not ashamed, it is what it is and I accept that.

They were fucking GIANT for about a month when I was in 5th grade ... '97, maybe?

I only heard about them when my cousin would take me to Christian movie night at his church. they had tons of posters for TOBYMAC. this was like 2004 I wanna say. they said "you haven't heard of TobyMac or DC Talk????!!". It was a bit of a culture shock for both parties.

anything created at Liberty University is probably horseshit at best. I stayed away

I have no idea who TobyMac is, I can't say I've ever heard the name. My parents aren't religious so I didn't grow up in that circle, the only reason I know of DC Talk is 'cause that Jesus Freak song above was playing constantly on the radio here for a few weeks.
